Job Description

Wells Fargo Consumer Credit Card division’s Financial Analysis & Consulting team (FACT) is responsible for evaluating profitability of various consumer credit card products, strategic initiatives, population expansions, mail / digital / bank marketing campaigns, pricing constructs, etc., by balancing risk and reward through advanced financial cash flow modeling and analytical techniques.

We work very closely with business partners in Credit Card Product Management, Marketing, Risk Management, Customer Service, Collections, and Fraud to propose new business cases that are financially sound and incrementally profi. We are an integral part of the business decision making process that drives future business focus and growth.

This position will have regular responsibility for credit card analytics and is tasked to deliver world-class analytics insight, optimization, and pricing strategies to the business.

The role will entail providing leadership to identify and answer key strategic questions, and driving different aspects of determining profitability - including modeling, strategy recommendation, performance tracking, and ad hoc analysis - to ensure robust, ongoing profitability of all Credit Card Acquisitions initiatives.

Specifically, this position will be responsible for:

- Complex analysis to support management decision-making and strategic objectives
- Driving strategy recommendations and profitability reporting and analytics
- Prepare financial models/ business cases to support key business initiatives and sizing potential business opportunities
- Perform complex data mining and predictive modeling to analyzing portfolio trends
- Proposing and reviewing product line or service changes or expansions
- Packaging and presenting strategy and analytical support to partners

The successful candidate will need to have a strong understanding of the business strategy, financial analysis and credit risk in a Financial Services/ Banking domain. 

Qualifications

- Capable of communicating in in terms of big picture, but working with close attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong presentation skills


Basic Qualifications
8+ years reporting and analytical experience, or

A Masters degree in programs such as applied mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics or computer science, with 4+ years directly applicable work experience.


Minimum Qualifications
• Ability to program in SAS and analyze large datasets using the SAS software
• 6-8 years of increasing experience and responsibility in developing business strategy and providing complex financial analysis in a financial services industry, preferably in consumer credit
• Experience with creating and presenting business cases
• Hands-on expertise in driving data intensive analytical projects, portfolio analysis and consumer behavior analysis
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint
• Demonstrated excellent written/verbal communications & presentation skills


Preferred Skills
• MBA or equivalent degree
• Previous experience in finance and/or risk management is preferred
• Experience with SQL, statistical packages, computational financial modeling and time series forecasting techniques
