Job Description
GENERAL DEFINITION Examiners work in an office setting in our District Claims Offices. They perform administrative duties in the maintenance of claims files and operation of the DCO. They assist the DCM, adjusters and assistants in the daily operation of the DCO.
MAJOR DUTIES OF POSITION
1. Reviews and assigns new losses received to proper adjuster, including referrals.
2. Confirm coverage and clarify coverage issues.
3. Complete assignments to appraisers and property specialists as directed by DCM.
4. Order office supplies when needed.
5. Responsible for completing monthly claims report reflecting current workload of all adjusters in DCO.
6. Receive incoming telephone calls and take loss reports and message. Monitor the office MBX.
7. Assist adjusters in providing instructions to insureds/claimants, delivering checks, obtaining signed releases when appropriate.
8. Assist adjusters in “preliminary” claims handling such as ordering police/theft reports, ordering appraisals, etc.
9. Assist in handling glass claims when needed.
10. Assist DCM in daily claims operations.
11. Do Exceed and PMS entry and correct Exceed and PMS errors when necessary.
12. Issue stop payments as necessary.
13. Run CCC daily and keep records.
Qualifications
SPECIAL TRAINING, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
College degree, or comparable business experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and NCFB claims and corporate systems preferred. Ability to conduct business in appropriate manner with clients by telephone or in person. Dependable, responsible person able to work independently and work well within a team. Organization, accuracy, patience required.
