Job Description

North 40 Outfitters is looking to hire a Head of Data Analytics to join our team. We believe that each team member plays a vital role in the success of our company, and we are looking for authentic and enthusiastic people who love our lifestyle and believe in service before self.

As the Head of Data Analytics at North 40 Outfitters, you will provide strategic leadership for the organization's enterprise analytics, business intelligence, and data governance initiatives. You will partner closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to develop and execute an enterprise analytics strategy that empowers data-driven decision-making, improves operational performance, and supports long-term business growth. This role involves developing and overseeing a modern, scalable analytics environment using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure data services, and industry best practices, while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in enterprise analytics, business intelligence, data management, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience managing enterprise analytics, business intelligence, or data teams.
  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing enterprise analytics strategies that improve business performance and support organizational growth.
  • Experience partnering with executive leadership to develop data-driven strategies and lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Fabric and Microsoft Power BI in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Power Query, DAX, SQL, Azure Data Services, Microsoft Entra ID, enterprise data warehousing, semantic models, OneLake, ETL/ELT processes, and modern data architecture.
  • Experience establishing enterprise reporting standards, KPI frameworks, dashboard development standards, and data visualization best practices.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data governance, data quality management, security, compliance, and reporting governance.
  • Experience leading enterprise data platform modernization and optimization initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Python or R, Microsoft Copilot, machine learning, predictive analytics, and AI-assisted analytics preferred.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Git version control preferred.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into meaningful business insights and executive recommendations.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic planning, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, manage multiple initiatives, and deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Ability to champion innovation while maintaining strong governance, security, operational excellence, and data integrity.
  • Ability to work for extended periods at a computer while performing repetitive keyboard and mouse functions.
  • Ability to occasionally travel (10–30%) to company locations, vendor facilities, and other business-related events.
