Job Description

North 40 Outfitters in Omak, WA is looking to hire a knowledgeable and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Full-Time Salaried Store Manager. We believe that each team member plays a vital role in the success of our company, and we are looking for authentic and enthusiastic people who love our lifestyle and believe in service before self. Qualifications

  • Retail management experience; Farm, Gun, and Sporting Goods store experience preferred
  • Ability to manage and ensure sales goals are met by tracking, evaluating options, and managing resources
  • Skilled in leadership, coaching, and training, sales generation, strategic planning, authentic customer service, conflict resolution, business acumen, time management, POS terminals, and general retail software proficiency
  • Able to work with an manage many personalities
  • Merchandising experience is preferred
  • Ability to complete operational, administrative and safety tasks on all levels
  • Strong knowledge of agriculture and livestock industry in the area as well as knowledge of firearms sales
  • Ability to communicate effectively and thoroughly and dedicated to connecting, building trust with, and teaching others
  • Committed to providing feedback, developing others, embracing and leading change, and making decisions under ambiguity
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining detailed and focused
  • A willingness to serve your team and your customer with a “lead by example” mindset and a focus on building up and developing others.

WHAT IS IT LIKE TO BE A STORE MANAGER AT NORTH 40?

As the Store Manager, you are responsible to coach and lead a terrific store team, drive sales and profitability metrics, manage the store operationally, maintain store standards and promote safety and safeguard the company.  In order to succeed in the position, you will need to be an enthusiastic “people person” who can optimistically handle a challenging and fast-paced environment. You should have experience and a passion for generating sales, safeguarding company assets, and maintaining store standards. A key part of this position will be the operational and administrative side of our store. You should also have a strong background in retail management, merchandising, and sales. Understanding and adapting to local culture is also crucial to your success. Public relations experience and a working knowledge of outdoor recreation, farm and ranch, animal health, tools, and hardware is a plus.

WORK SCHEDULE FOR A STORE MANAGER

This full-time salaried position requires the ability to work all scheduled shifts between the business hours of Mon-Sat 7 am to 7 pm, and Sunday 9 am to 5 pm., as well as additional time before and after hours as needed. This shift can include working weekends and certain holidays and will require flexibility in scheduling based on business needs.  As this is a managerial position it is not uncommon to work 55-60 hours a week.
