The Content Manager is responsible for telling our story by developing and driving effective strategies for content creation and distribution that focus on supporting North 40 Outfitters’ values and marketing initiatives. Reporting directly to the Marketing Director, the Content Manager leads the Content team in collaborating with multiple stakeholders in adjusting and finetuning content to reinforce branding across multiple channels that deliver engagement and market growth.

Qualifications

1. Manage the Brand Presence

a. Oversee the overall tone and voice of North 40 Outfitters on multiple channels including but not limited to web, print, television, radio, and social media content.

b. Develop a cohesive strategy to maximize engagement, views, follows, and ultimately sales and market growth across all customer facing channels

c. Clearly communicate the strategy and vision to internal stakeholders so that it is well understood and reinforced across all involved teams

d. Responsible for successfully creating or curating all branding that best captures the supervisor, leadership and/or Owners’ vision for the Brand

2. Function as Content Editor and Creator

a. Act as both an editor and writer to craft creative and consistent copy across channels and set branding examples for team.

b. Continually develop a working knowledge of our products, our market, and our customer base in order to create effective content for the brand.

c. Continually generates ideas, fresh perspectives and original approaches and uses creativity and originality when problem solving, going beyond traditional approaches to increase effectiveness.

d. Identify and develop opportunities to collaborate with internal and external vendors, contributors, and artistic talent

3. Coach and lead a communicative, collaborative and effective Content Team

a. Set clear direction and objectives and provide meaningful and supporting follow-up, guidance and accountability.

b. Lead by example, delegate effectively and uses questions and listening to enabled individual and team grow and development.

c. Promote team approaches and facilitate proactive communication and interaction regarding projects, problem solving and fostering creativity and curiosity.

d. Supervise the media team’s daily workflow and shooting schedule to meet long term goals, deadlines and budget and adjust as needed.

e. Motivate team members by recognizing accomplishments, encouraging and helping them with challenges and striving to treat everyone respectfully and fairly.

Essential Duties: #1 and #3 are essential duties of the position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s) Needed

General Knowledge: Marketing– good understanding of Content Marketing, Social Media Advertising, Media Relations, and General Marketing Principals; Leadership - Strong understanding of management and leadership of others, and how to inspire and motivated teams as well as developing and bringing out their best; Project Management — practice of initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing the work to achieve goals and meet success criteria at the specified time; Editorial Writing — Advanced knowledge and familiarity of content coordination, copy- writing, possesses engaging “story telling” and creative writing skills with a professional posture; Computer Programs- proficiency in Microsoft Suite, and other digital tools; Business Operations/Acumen – A thorough understanding of the general business functions including a basic working knowledge of retail policies and procedures.

Skills: Big Picture Thinker – Understands the implications and future impacts of each decision and how it potentially affects the company; Established Sense of Urgency – prioritizing and completing not only assigned tasks but taking initiative to take on other tasks that need to be completed; Confidentiality – maintain strict privacy and discretion regarding employee and company information/data or sharing information only with the individuals, HR team, or specified function or contact including refraining from gossip and or perpetuating information
