Norco is currently seeking an individual to fill our Business Intelligence Analyst position. The Business Intelligence Analyst reviews company functions, processes, and activities to improve computer based business applications for the most effective use of money, materials, equipment, and people. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Essential:

  • Leverages data to advise and craft key decisions and identify new opportunities
  • Ensure project plans are supported by data assets
  • Identify data gaps and take steps to fill them
  • Provide business analysis, introducing new data assets, and using existing assets to help empower our teams
  • Develop rich, interactive, visually striking graphics and data visualizations using large amounts of data
  • Improve existing dashboards, reports, and data transformations
  • Conceptualize and produce insightful data visualizations that are digestible, usable and actionable for the user base
  • Advocate and implement data education and literacy
  • Develop ad-hoc reporting and provide analytics services to support business decision-making processes
  • Understand high-level business objectives and continually align work with those objectives to meet the needs of the business
  • Help define or revise business and project KPIs, and create supporting reporting and dashboards where needed.
  • Provide support to the development of training materials and training activities related to the BI tools and applications
  • Selects the most appropriate analytical technique for continuous improvement.
  • Develops and implements analytical techniques to measure and evaluate gross margin trends across product offerings, major customers, and insurance payors.
  • Develop and implement analytical techniques to measure and evaluate trends in key markets to drive organic and new growth.
  • Utilizes available computer system resources and personnel to carry out analysis to support management's quest for performance improvement
  • Reviews and analyzes information, forecasts, methods, schedules, systems, processes, and procedures
  • Performs other tasks as assigned or necessary

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Prioritize and maintain data integrity in all activities
  • Utilize several techniques including simulation, linear and nonlinear programming, dynamic programming, Markov decision processes, econometric methods, data envelopment analysis, neural networks, expert systems, decision analysis, and the analytic hierarchy process.
  • Professional experience working with SQL and building and maintaining complex data warehousing
  • Experience with data modeling techniques and tools
  • Knowledge of analytical tools (i.e. R, SAS, Hadoop)
  • Knowledge of BI tools (i.e. Tableau, Microsoft Power BI)
  • Knowledge of required languages (i.e. Python, SQL, DAX)
  • Machine learning and AI experience a plus
  • Ability to communicate complex analytical concepts at all levels of the business

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years business analytics experience
  • Preferred experience and knowledge of policies, procedures, regulations, and standards for a welding and home care supply distributor
  • Experience with medical/healthcare fields and/or distributorships a plus
  • Four year degree in a quantitative field (i.e. Statistics, Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering)
  • Ability to accurately enter data into computers and acquire a working knowledge of any software applications necessary to the position
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (i.e. processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, etc.)
