Job Description

Norco is currently seeking an individual to fill our ASU Plant Operator position. ASU Plant Operators are expected to interface through the electronic, pneumatic, and/or mechanical systems to control the air separation unit (ASU) in order to meet the expectations of our pipeline and merchant customers. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manipulate ASU controls to meet product specifications and production requirements
  • Monitor and manage process equipment parameters to meet production goals
  • Trouble shoot and evaluate process upsets and take corrective actions
  • Perform analytical tests, as needed, to assure process stability and product quality in process, on pipeline supply, and on final product conformance testing on cryogenic transports
  • Gain an understanding of the plant water chemistry to assure the proper cooling tower operations and equipment functions
  • Perform routine calibrations and maintenance of analytical test equipment
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on plant, process, and auxiliary equipment
  • Prepare and maintain production operations and distribution records to meet the requirements of FDA, EPA, OSHA, ISO, Quality Systems, and other internal and external requirements
  • Perform other tasks as assigned or necessary

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a technically oriented continuous process and/or production environment is required
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics calculations
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Familiarity with the use of precision measurement tools to assure the proper assembly and fit of rotating mechanical equipment
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at elevated areas
