Job Description

Norco is currently seeking an individual to fill our Director of Human Resources position. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for partnering with Executive Management to shape the organization's policies, procedures, and systems in order to establish a culture and department that supports the company's core values and strategic vision. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Educate the organization on Human Resource best practices to ensure compliance with all relevant employment agencies rules and regulations
  • Mentor and develop HR team in alignment with company objectives
  • Provide Human Resource direction to Norco Executive and Regional Leadership teams to constantly improve recruiting and retention initiatives that drive employee engagement and reduce turnover
  • Plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment laws
  • Use data to support changes to policy, procedure, or benefits using knowledge of trends, best practices, and regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Develop a leadership training program, monitor its implementation and create a reporting matrix to measure its success
  • Develop a job classification system, assign salary ranges, and conduct annual salary survey's to ensure Norco is competitive in the marketplace and in alignment with Norco's salary philosophy
  • Lead a focused team both locally and remotely by creating and maintaining a high performance environment characterized by positive leadership and a strong team orientation
  • Function as the HRIS system champion, ensuring that the system is optimized, HR team is trained, and Norco employees are trained on its use
  • Develop, implement, and conduct company wide talent review program
  • Ensure correct, timely, accurate processing of all employee requests and Human Resource specific team grievances
  • Coordinate regular meetings and manage the relationship with Norco appointed brokers or consultants to drive value for Norco's employees, ensure a competitive benefit program and manage the company's health care costs
  • Partner with company's Safety leader to manage workman's compensation claims
  • Supervise and evaluate productivity and performance of HR team and facilitate professional development, training, and certification
  • Analyze financial impact of changes in personnel activities and recommend corrective action accordingly
  • Participate in periodic meetings with management team as it relates to Human Resources and strategy development
  • Perform other tasks as assigned or necessary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, preferable with a focus in Human Resources, business administration, finance, or related field. MBA a plus
  • 8-10+ years' experience of relevant management experience demonstrating a progression of growth in scope and responsibility
  • Ability to travel to stores and facilities on a regular basis
  • Ability to work independently and with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Must have a proven ability to maintain flexibility, multi-task, manage time efficiently, meet deadlines, and thrive in an environment with changing priorities and variability
  • PHR/SPHR preferred
