Job Description
This is a role based in the Netherlands, with office presence in Breda required. You will help support the continued growth, including the activities from the European sister company in Germany. The role will contribute to designing practical structures, improving processes, strengthening controls, and supporting ERP and IT system developments that enable scalable finance operations. You will also help administer the German ERP environment where required within its limited scope.
You will be close to the business, not limited to one narrow task area. The role offers broad exposure to finance operations, international and interdepartmental collaboration, ERP improvement, controls, reporting, and process optimization. It is well suited to someone who wants to grow their skills, make a visible impact, and contribute ideas in a supportive, hands-on environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage day-to-day finance administration and accounting entries for the Netherlands and Germany entities;
- Support the monthly close process and help deliver timely, accurate, and well-documented reporting;
- Process and review general ledger entries, bank transactions, customer and vendor transactions, fixed assets, inventory, month-end journals, reconciliations, and related documentation;
- Take ownership of intercompany transactions and monthly balancing between entities;
- Ensure transactions are properly authorized, accurately coded, and compliant with company policy;
- Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations with clear supporting documentation and follow-up on open items;
- Collaborate with local finance, operations, commercial teams, and international colleagues to resolve issues and improve ways of working;
- Liaise with external and regulatory stakeholders such as tax authorities, customs, auditors, and other government departments as needed;
- Contribute to ERP implementation, optimization, and data quality improvements, with a focus on efficient and reliable finance processes;.
- Help strengthen the internal control environment and support compliance with fiscal, statutory, and regulatory requirements;
- Support management, statutory, and external reporting deliverables, including local reporting requirements;
- Prepare and provide data for VAT, Intrastat, ICP, and other tax or regulatory filings;
- Support timely accounts receivable collections and customer follow-up in a professional manner;
- Ensure accounts payable invoices are processed on time and prepare payment proposals for approval and banking upload;
- Calculate sales commissions and process employee expense reimbursements accurately and on time;
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve controls, and use digital tools more effectively;

- Practical experience with transactional finance, administrative processes, and ERP-based accounting activities;
- Experience maintaining financial records in line with applicable regulations, internal controls, and accounting standards;

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is preferred. Five or more years of relevant finance experience in the Netherlands is preferred, although equivalent education, training, certifications, or practical experience will also be considered. Familiarity with the orthopedic, medical device, healthcare, or distribution environment is an advantage.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Professional written and verbal communication skills are required. Fluency in Dutch and English is required; German language skills at a functional business level are a strong advantage.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform various financial analyses.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Requires a valid work permit for The Netherlands.
Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to work independently, collaborate across teams, and contribute to quality outputs within deadlines. Comfortable participating in meetings, sharing ideas, and supporting continuous improvement. Experience with ERP and accounting software is required, and exposure to supply chain, purchasing, and inventory systems is preferred. A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required. Interest in digital tools, automation, reporting improvements, and data quality is highly valued.
