Job Description
Join Nine Streaming at a time of significant growth, working on 9Now, Australia's leading free streaming platform. This is an exciting opportunity in our North Sydney office to join a back-end team focusing on our Core Services APIs—the critical infrastructure that delivers our award-winning content to millions of customers. If you are passionate about coding, problem-solving, and continuous improvement, this is where you can truly make your mark.
Day to day you will:
- Work within the Core Services Team, helping to take the existing back-end services to the next level of performance and scalability.
- Design, develop, and maintain Core Services APIs, ensuring efficient and reliable content delivery for 9Now.
- Collaborate closely with other 9Now teams, providing the support needed to meet their technical deadlines effectively.
- Contribute to team goals, discussions, and process improvements, working independently or collaboratively as required.
- Utilise testing frameworks (like Jest & Mocha) and apply SOLID principles throughout the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Continuously learn new technologies and techniques, driven by a curious mindset and a passion for coding.
Qualifications
What you’ll bring:
- 3+ years of commercial experience working with Node.js or equivalent back-end technologies and frameworks.
- Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, and NestJS or comparable back-end languages and frameworks.
- A strong understanding of what constitutes a good API design and implementation.
- Experience working with Git, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud computing environments.
- Proficiency with the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) and its core principles.
- A continuous improvement mindset with a strong focus on quality and excellent problem-solving skills.
