Our TV operation is the heart of video and breaking news journalism at Nine, making it the place to be if you want to be at the centre of the action.

As a 9News producer, you'll be responsible for overseeing the production of high-quality journalism which informs, educates and engages our viewers. You'll work closely with reporters, editors, graphic artists and other producers to craft compelling stories which resonate with our audience.

Job Description

The following are the qualities and skills we are seeking:

  • A deep understanding of the news: A 9News producer is a news junkie. You must have a strong comprehension of current events, politics and the news cycle in general. You must be able to identify critical stories and angles which will resonate with viewers.
  • Excellent communication skills: You must be able to communicate effectively with the team and convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Attention to detail: You must have a keen eye for detail and spot errors or inconsistencies in content. You must also ensure that all aspects of the production process run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Strong organisational skills: You must be highly organised and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Creative thinking: 9News producers think outside the box and are willing to take risks.
  • Ability to work under pressure: You must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. You remain calm and focused under tight deadlines and in the face of unexpected challenges.
  • Teamwork: We're looking for individuals who share our values of collaboration and teamwork.
