The Australian Financial Review is seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join the team and provide support to the AFR Editor and Managing Editor as well as the AFR EA/Office Manager.

Job Description

Day to day you will: 

  • Provide administration support and action requests from the AFR editor and managing editor in a professional, efficient and timely manner
  • Support the AFR EA/Office manager
  • Assist on editorial projects as required
  • Organise meetings and staff functions (including venues, facilities, catering and resources required), and communicate to all relevant parties ahead of time
  • Manage monthly expense reporting for the AFR editor and managing editor
  • Assist EA with newsroom expenses and process invoices
  • Provide administrative support to the newsroom 
  • Arrange travel and accommodation 
  • Prepare presentations
  • Maintain rosters and diary management
  • Monitor AFR inboxes 
  • Maintain archives, filing and order stationery

  • An interest in progressing into journalism would be an advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite 
  • Experience working in the media industry is an advantage
