Job Description

Your new opportunity at Nine.

The Associate Producer will be responsible for preparing content for our Nine News TV programs across the day. You’ll need a solid grasp of the fast moving news agenda, and be prepared to work across our 5am News, Today Show news, breaking content through the day, the flagship 6pm News and our Late News. We’re looking for someone who’s quick on their feet, a strong writer who wants to tell complex stories on TV, and knows great video when they see it. You’ll be interested in everything from politics to crime, entertainment and global events.

This is a permanent, full-time position that will involve shift work.

Day to day you will:

  • Write scripts and choose the content that best tells the story you are assigned for any bulletin
  • Liaise with Nine News reporters to produce their live content
  • Contribute to setting the agenda with ideas and find breaking news content
  • Produce stories that are accurate and legally sound with correct spelling and grammar

Qualifications

In order to be successful for this role, you will ideally have:

  • Minimum two years’ experience as a journalist
  • The ability to write fast, accurate copy and meet rolling deadlines under pressure
  • Experience in TV, radio, digital or social news is desirable
  • Strong grammar and research skills
  • Excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude
