Job Description

At Nine Food Events we create unforgettable experiences that leave lasting memories. We produce some of Australia's most loved, premium food festivals - Good Food Month presented by Citi, the Night Noodle Markets and The Curated Plate.

Nine Food Events attract 1 million attendees across six major locations each year, through specially curated dining experiences starring award-winning chefs and trend-setting, innovative culinary superstars. Each event we produce is about delighting, inspiring and transporting our audiences out of their everyday through world class dining experiences.

The Curated Plate is a new four day food festival celebrating the union between regional produce and chef expertise in August on the Sunshine Coast. In partnership with Visit Sunshine Coast, Tourism Events Queensland and the Sunshine Coast Council, The Curated Plate made its debut in August 2019 and will return August 2020.

The Marketing Manager, The Curated Plate ​will lead the implementation of the seven month marketing campaign and will be responsible for meeting ticket sales targets and driving tourism visitation numbers. The Marketing Manager will support the Senior Marketing Manager, Food Events in implementing the annual marketing plan, using best practice marketing activity for the newest culinary festival in the Food Events portfolio.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to;

  • Managing strategic media partnerships
  • Implementing the advertising strategy within both the Nine network and externally
  • Leading and executing the social media strategy
  • Regular eDM communications
  • Audience acquisition
  • PR & digital agency management
  • Regular marketing & ticketing campaign reporting for key stakeholders - Nine, Tourism & Events Queensland, Visit Sunshine Coast and the Sunshine Coast Council.
  • Solid understanding of the partnership’s objectives and KPIs to drive tourism to the region, with regular internal and external reporting
  • Understanding of the target demographic and ensuring the marketing campaign is optimized to drive ticket sales and event attendance, within budget
  • Implement tactics to drive significant audience growth across social media and the eDM database
  • Build strong working relationships with all internal departments - operations, event manager(s), sponsorship, editorial and advertising
     

Qualifications

  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud and MailChimp experience
  • Wordpress experience
  • Google Analytics experience
  • Competent understanding of best practice SEO
  • Experience with creating social content, scheduling & reporting, using Facebook Business Manager and other relevant scheduling platforms
  • Events marketing experience
  • Tourism marketing experience
  • Proven project management skills, from inception to completion
  • Ability to work autonomously and with flexibility - this role will require some after hours work including evenings and weekend work during the festival in August
  • Must be available to work at the event on the Sunshine Coast, in August (3rd - 10th )
