Job Description
The Media Planner will be responsible for designing, planning, executing, and optimizing targeted media campaigns for suppliers under the client's Marketing project. In addition to campaign management, the role will act as a trusted commercial partner to suppliers, helping them maximize campaign performance, increase adoption of retail media solutions, and identify opportunities for continued investment and growth.
This role combines media planning, campaign execution, client relationship management, and commercial development, ensuring campaigns deliver measurable business outcomes while driving supplier engagement and revenue opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Campaign Planning & Setup
- Collaborate with suppliers to understand campaign objectives, business priorities, target audiences, and growth opportunities.
- Recommend media channels and targeting strategies using NIQ Segmentation Studio.
- Develop campaign briefs, timelines, budgets, and cost estimates based on the retail client's rate card.
- Advise suppliers on the most effective media mix to achieve campaign goals and maximize ROI.
- Identify opportunities to expand campaign scope and increase supplier engagement.
2. Media Strategy & Optimization
- Design and execute multi-channel media plans across:
- SMS
- EDM
- Push Notifications
- Social Media
- Other relevant retail media channels
- Monitor campaign performance, analyze results, and recommend optimization actions.
- Ensure all campaigns align with supplier business objectives and performance targets.
3. Client Management & Commercial Growth
- Serve as a trusted advisor to suppliers and provide strategic media recommendations.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders.
- Conduct campaign performance reviews and business discussions with clients.
- Demonstrate clear business value and ROI to encourage repeat investment.
- Identify cross-sell, upsell, and campaign expansion opportunities.
- Prepare and present media proposals that support supplier business growth.
- Support commercial discussions and campaign pitches when required.
- Partner with internal sales and account teams to drive revenue growth and client retention.
4. Execution & Coordination
- Liaise with the retail client's Marketing team for campaign setup, approvals, and execution.
- Oversee creative assets and ensure compliance with retail client artwork guidelines.
- Manage campaign go-live activities and troubleshoot operational issues.
5. Performance Reporting & Insights
- Prepare pre-campaign opportunity assessments and recommendations.
- Develop post-campaign performance reports and evaluation summaries.
- Analyze campaign effectiveness and extract actionable insights.
- Present campaign results and strategic recommendations to suppliers.
- Use insights to identify future campaign opportunities and drive repeat business.
- Maintain accurate campaign documentation, project records, and performance reports.
Qualifications
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOU
You are naturally curious about consumer behavior, customer engagement, and campaign performance. You have a strong media planning background and are equally comfortable discussing strategy, analytics, and commercial opportunities with clients.
You enjoy building client relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and helping clients achieve measurable business outcomes through data-driven marketing solutions. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can balance campaign execution, stakeholder management, and business development responsibilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in:
- Media Planning
- Campaign Management
- Retail Media
- Digital Marketing
- CRM Marketing
- Loyalty Marketing
- FMCG, Retail, Consumer Goods, or Media Agency experience preferred.
- Proven knowledge of loyalty marketing and customer engagement programs.
- Strong understanding of:
- Digital media channels
- CRM-based targeting
- Audience segmentation
- Retail media ecosystems
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret campaign performance data and generate actionable recommendations.
- Experience managing supplier, client, or advertiser relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to identify commercial opportunities and drive campaign growth.
- Experience developing proposals, campaign recommendations, or media plans that lead to increased client investment.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
- Exceptional presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Experience working in a regional or international environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
