Job Description

Our NielsenIQ Technology teams are working on revamping multiple platform, a unified, global, open data ecosystem powered by Microsoft Azure. Our clients around the world rely on NielsenIQ’s data and insights to innovate and grow.  As a Mobile Engineer, you’ll be part of a team of smart, highly skilled technologists who are passionate about learning and prototyping cutting-edge technologies. Right now our CDAR platform is concentrating on application convergence with latest cross platform mobile technologies with Xamarin and leverage Azure DevOps to support things like CI/CD and integrations. Our team is co-located and agile, with central technology hubs in Chennai and Pune.  

 

What you’ll do    

  • Lead the design, development, and modernization of mobile applications supporting data acquisition across retail audits, surveys, and AI-driven collection use cases. 

  • Own end-to-end delivery of mobile solutions built on .NET MAUI / Xamarin and native mobile technologies, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and roadmap commitments. 

  • Collaborate closely with Product, DA Operations, Architecture, and PMO teams to translate business requirements into robust mobile solutions for global deployment. 

  • Provide strong technical leadership and people management, mentoring engineering teams and driving engineering excellence across multiple mobile applications. 

  • Lead adoption of advanced data collection capabilities, including: 

  • Image and video capture 

  • OCR and document recognition 

  • Computer vision and AI-driven workflows 

  • Voice / conversational interfaces 

  • Ensure code quality, security, scalability, and performance by implementing best practices, code reviews, and quality engineering standards. 

  • Define and drive mobile engineering governance, including: 

  • CI/CD pipelines 

  • Code quality metrics 

  • Device compatibility and testing strategy 

  • Release and deployment processes 

  • Partner with Security, Privacy, and Compliance teams to ensure safe handling of sensitive and regulated data in mobile applications. 

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, evaluate emerging technologies, and recommend improvements to enhance mobile capabilities and user experience. 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field 

  • 12+ years of experience in software engineering with strong experience in: 

  • Xamarin / MAUI-based mobile development 

  • Native Android and/or iOS development 

  • Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing large-scale mobile application portfolios 

  • Strong expertise in: 

  • Cross-platform mobile architecture (MAUI/Xamarin) 

  • Offline-first mobile design and data synchronization 

  • API integrations and backend connectivity 

  • Experience working on enterprise-grade mobile applications with global scale and high user volume 

  • Exposure to AI-enabled mobile capabilities, such as: 

  • OCR and image recognition 

  • Voice-based interfaces 

  • Data collection automation 

  • Solid understanding of: 

  • Mobile application design patterns and optimization techniques 

  • Performance tuning and scalability considerations 

  • Proficiency with: 

  • Code repositories (Git, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps) 

  • Code quality tools (SonarQube) 

  • Unit testing frameworks (NUnit, XUnit) 

  • Strong experience in Agile/SCRUM environments; SAFe Agile experience preferred 

  • Experience in building or integrating custom SDKs / reusable mobile components 

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, especially in device fragmentation and production issue scenarios 

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to collaborate across global, cross-functional teams 

  • A consistent track record of high performance marked by ownership, perseverance, and a growth mindset
