Job Description

Role Purpose

The Senior Manager, Regional Consulting & Insights will play a pivotal leadership role in driving strategic client impact and commercial growth for NielsenIQ across Asia.

This role blends senior-level client engagement, thought leadership, and commercial leadership, while also coaching and developing an Insights Manager and working closely with internal commercial, analytics, and country teams.

The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor to senior clients, able to translate data into clear strategic direction, influence decision makers, and convert insight into measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Senior Client Engagement & Trusted Advisor Role

  • Act as a senior strategic partner to key regional and local clients across Asia.
  • Lead C‑suite and senior leadership conversations, shaping agendas rather than reacting to briefs.
  • Elevate client relationships from delivery-focused to value‑ and outcome‑driven partnerships.
  • Confidently handle ambiguity, challenge client thinking, and guide decision making using insight.

2. Consulting Impact & Strategic Thought Leadership

  • Lead the development of high‑impact consulting engagements that go beyond reporting into strategy, growth, and transformation.
  • Create and deliver regional thought leadership (e.g. POVs, frameworks, presentations) relevant to APAC FMCG and retail dynamics.
  • Represent NIQ in senior forums, client workshops, and leadership sessions.
  • Translate complex data into simple, compelling narratives that drive action.

3. Commercial Leadership & Growth

  • Identify, shape, and convert commercial leads in collaboration with account development teams and commercial leaders.
  • Support regional and local teams in solutioning, proposal development, and value articulation.
  • Drive incremental consulting and insights revenue through strong client engagement and clear ROI storytelling.
  • Balance commercial ambition with delivery excellence.

4. Client Experience & NPS Ownership

  • Take ownership for client experience outcomes, including NPS and relationship health.
  • Proactively address risks, manage expectations, and course-correct engagements when needed.
  • Champion a client-first mindset across consulting and insights delivery.

5. People Leadership & Coaching

  • Coach and develop a Manager (or Managers) responsible for day‑to‑day insights and analysis.
  • Provide clear direction, quality assurance, and developmental feedback.
  • Build a culture of high standards, curiosity, and commercial mindset within the team.
  • Role model strong consulting behaviours and leadership presence.

6. Internal Collaboration & Influence

  • Work closely with commercial leaders, analytics, and country teams across Asia.
  • Align consulting priorities with broader NIQ strategy and client plans.
  • Influence without authority in a matrixed, regional organisation.
  • Act as a bridge between insight creation and commercial execution.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 8–12+ years’ experience in management consulting, strategy, insights, or analytics, ideally within FMCG, retail, or consumer sectors.
  • Proven track record of leading senior client engagements and influencing decision‑makers.
  • Experience driving commercial outcomes (revenue growth, upsell, pipeline creation).
  • People leadership experience, including coaching and developing managers.
  • Regional or multi‑market APAC experience strongly preferred.

Capabilities

  • Strong strategic thinking combined with practical, action‑oriented recommendations.
  • Excellent storytelling and executive communication skills.
  • High commercial acumen: understands how insight translates into business value.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and fast‑changing environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across cultures and markets.
