The NielsenIQ North America Data Science team is passionate about solving complex client challenges and providing data-driven, actionable, timely, and innovative solutions. This Lead Data Scientist position was created to support our US Data Science initiatives.
This position requires someone who is passionate about learning, multi sourced data, data quality, statistical measurement, automation, efficiency, and consumer behavior.

Key Responsibilities
- Drive Complex Analyses: Independently lead deep-dive analyses to uncover insights and guide strategic decisions without waiting for detailed instructions.
- Manage Multiple Priorities: Effectively balance and deliver on several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Act as a Strategic Partner: Represent the Data Science function in cross-functional discussions, influencing decisions and advocating data-driven solutions.
- Evaluate and Innovate: Quickly assess existing methodologies, identify gaps, and lead the E2E implementation of improved methodologies or alternative approaches.
- Communicate with Impact: Document findings clearly and present actionable recommendations tailored to diverse audiences, ensuring clarity and alignment.
- Ensure System Reliability: Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve anomalies across data pipelines and analytical systems to maintain integrity and performance.
- Educate and Enable: Translate complex concepts into accessible explanations for stakeholders at varying levels of technical expertise.
- Commit to Growth: Continuously expand technical and leadership skillsets, staying ahead of emerging trends and best practices in data science.
Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree with a quantitative discipline.
- 5-8 Years of professional experience in a quantitative field.
Skills
- Strong quantitative aptitude with proven data analysis and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Experience working with large, complex datasets.
- Solid understanding of analytical processes and methodologies.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Effective planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated curiosity and commitment to continuous learning.
