Job Description

Position Summary

The Senior Accounts Payable Associate is responsible for end-to-end processing of supplier invoices, payments, and employee travel & expense claims. The role requires strong SAP expertise, solid knowledge of P2P processes, and the ability to resolve complex issues independently. This position also supports policy compliance, process improvements, and serves as an escalation point for internal stakeholders and junior AP team members.

Key Responsibilities

Travel & Expense (T&E) Management

  • Review, verify, and process employee T&E claims in accordance with company T&E policies.
  • Validate supporting documents, receipts, and proper cost-center allocations.
  • Monitor non-compliant claims and follow up with employees or managers for corrections.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for T&E processes and tools (SAP Concur or other systems).
  • Support month-end postings for T&E (accruals, clearing accounts).
  • Assist with T&E policy updates and employee training sessions.

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure all AP and T&E processes adhere to company policies, tax rules, and SOX controls.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation; support internal and external audits.
  • Contribute to month-end activities including accruals, GR/IR analysis, and reporting.

Process Improvements

  • Identify opportunities for AP and T&E automation and efficiency.
  • Participate in SAP enhancements, UAT, and system upgrades.
  • Share best practices and support knowledge transfer to junior AP associates.

Qualifications

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of Accounts Payable experience in a multinational or shared service environment.
  • Hands-on experience managing Travel & Expense (T&E) processes.

Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with SAP Concur or other T&E management systems.
  • Strong understanding of P2P, three-way match, GR/IR, vendor management.
  • Good knowledge of taxes relevant to AP and T&E (VAT, withholding tax).
  • Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, basic formulas).
