 As Software Engineer, you are part of the Global Media Measurement Tech and Client Operations management team and focus on maintaining healthy solutions and products that are operated globally.

Our Media Measurement team uses state-of-the-art technologies and rigorous methods to track who is watching what, where, and how they engage with content. Our clients can evaluate who is consuming which content across different media, platforms and devices, and know what the audience thinks about that content. As people consume media content on more channels, and through more devices, than ever before, we are proud to provide a full view on media consumption.

Qualifications

3+ years of professional Frontend experience (or equivalent demonstrated impact via projects). 

TypeScript & JavaScript 

  • Strong ES6+ fundamentals (modules, async/await, Promises, iterators, Map/Set). 
  • Proficient in TypeScript: interfaces vs. types, unions/intersections, singlelevel generics, type narrowing, unknown vs any, never. 

Web Platform & Accessibility 

  • Solid grasp of DOM/events and rendering basics. 
  • Modern CSS (Flexbox/Grid), responsive design, and a CSS architecture. 
  • HTML. 

Testing & Quality 

  • Unit and integration testing with Jest. 
  • Basic E2E testing. 
  • Debugs production issues using source maps and browser developer tools. 

Build, Tooling & CI 

  • Familiar with Webpack, environment handling, and source maps. 
  • Uses ESLint/Prettier consistently; understands tsconfig, module resolution, and path aliases. 
  • Can run and troubleshoot linting, tests, and builds locally and in CI. 
  • Understands build artifacts and deployment outputs (bundles, static assets, sourcemaps). 

CI/CD Pipelines 

  • Works with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Bitbucket Pipelines, or equivalents). 
  • Understands common pipeline stages: install, lint, test, build, and deploy. 
  • Configures environmentspecific variables and secrets securely. 
  • Can debug failing pipelines and flaky tests. 
  • Understands branching strategies (feature branches, main/trunk, release branches) and their impact on CI. 
  • Familiar with artifact storage and promotion across environments (dev → staging → production). 
  • Understands basic deployment strategies (manual approval gates, automated deploys, rollback awareness). 

AWS & Cloud Fundamentals 

  • Amazon S3 
  • Uses S3 for static asset and SPA hosting. 
  • Understands bucket policies, public access settings, CORS configuration, and cachecontrol headers. 
  • Amazon CloudFront 
  • Understands cache behaviors, invalidations, origin configuration (S3 / Elastic Beanstalk). 
  • Amazon Athena 
  • Runs SQL queries on S3backed datasets (e.g., logs or analytics events). 
  • Understands schemas, partitions, and basic performance/cost considerations. 
  • Elastic Beanstalk 
  • Deploys and manages web applications using Elastic Beanstalk. 
  • Understands environment configuration, environment variables, and basic scaling/health concepts. 
  • General AWS familiarity: IAM basics (roles vs. users), regions, and environment separation (dev/staging/prod). 

Networking, Security & Reliability 

  • REST fundamentals (HTTP methods, status codes, pagination, error responses). 
  • Implements userfriendly loading, empty, and error states with robust error handling. 

Collaboration 

  • Writes clear PRs and commit messages; receptive to feedback. 
  • Can clarify requirements, communicate tradeoffs, and manage scope effectively. 
  • Comfortable coordinating with backend, QA, and DevOps counterparts. 

Scrum & Agile Practices 

  • Works effectively within Scrum / Agile teams. 
  • Participates in key ceremonies: Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Reviews, and Retrospectives. 
  • Understands core concepts: sprints, backlogs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and story points. 
  • Breaks down requirements into small, testable frontend tasks with clear definitions of done. 
  • Collaborates closely with Product Owners to clarify scope, priorities, and tradeoffs. 
  • Supports iterative improvement through retrospectives and team feedback.
