You are a Product Design professional with 6+ years experience, who is an advocate of customer needs within the business, and accountable for working towards and ensuring appropriate experience information is gathered for the cross-functional team. You will be working with Product Management, POs, Engineers, Testers, Data science, Commercial, Operations and Marketing to inform business strategy, discovery, solution creation and development. 

You are part of the Product Design team who advocates for design thinking practices, working while coaching. You are an inspirational leader and are able to articulate design team needs, as well as ensure cross-functional teams deliver the right solution together with design support. 

Job Description

  • You'll strive to become knowledgeable of and work with product vision and strategy, and gain a deep understanding of the data 

  • You'll manage product designers on their process and quality of work, ensuring the inclusivity of other disciplines within the design process 

  • You will work to reduce isolated design work and you be able to conduct collaborative alignment and solution workshops to speed up the design process, while maintaining the quality and relevance of the solution. 

  • You will coach other designers and the cross-functional teams towards the needs for alignment, primary and secondary research gathering, and inclusive solution creation 

  • You will speak to external clients and internal subject matter experts regularly 

  • You will oversee the development of concepts for new products and features based on data, market research, consumer & business preferences 

  • You will oversee the design, build, and setting up of usability tests and feature or product prototypes, advocating for working from sketches into quick prototypes that can be iterated with feedback. You will be able to present a comprehensive research report 

  • You will be conducting competitive analysis of existing products in the marketplace to identify opportunities for improvement 

  • You will knowledgeable of status quo: maintain and test the products or features continuously, and advise other designers on implementation research questions. 

  • You will work to ensure the Tech organisation involvement: you will tightly collaborate with the engineering teams (developers, testers) end-to-end in development cycles. 

  • You will work with the rest of the design team to ensure the consistency of platform experience, and contribute to open communication 

  • You will be striving for system and experience consistency while using the set-up design system and contributing to it 

  • You will be ensuring that designs meet industry standards for accessibility, usability, durability, and appearance 

Qualifications

  • Passion for complex data products and design thinking methodology 

  • Research experience is a huge plus 

  • Positive attitude towards management of a design team and as well as alignment of cross-functional team & product goals 

  • Experience with Research repository tools like Dovetail, GreatQuestion and analytics tools like Amplitude, Hotjar. 

  • Experience with Figjam, Sketch and other design and prototyping tools 

  • Great team working – both with cross-functional team but also your design colleagues and reports 

  • Clear, concise and able to articulate the problems you face 

  • Enthusiasm for delivering to your customers through digital products 

  • Ability to collaborate with different disciplines and include them into your design process 

  • You are an advocate of and able to coach design thinking 

  • Influencing skills, adapting your decision to different team styles
