Job Description

As retailers and brands invest more and more into customer insights, promotion personalization and retail media, NIQ Activate brings a holistic customer-centric AI solution enabling retailers to manage their loyalty data and optimize all their activities in bridging the gap between retailers, suppliers and their customers.

The EEMEA Director Activate Retail Solution will lead the Activate commercial Sales and Analytics teams. With full accountability to make the Activate portfolio the industry standard, the Regional Director needs to be a seasoned leader with a proven track record, and a very good understanding of the Retail Loyalty space. The requirement is to drive awareness, business development, support the execution of every project, as well as the ongoing engagement and value proposition to the retailer and supplier clients.

This leader will play a critical role in the development and execution of partnership plans to achieve the joint NIQ and retailer client objectives, from lead generation, to contract closing and ongoing monetization of retailer data. They will also have the opportunity to get hands-on experience with a range of product, marketing, and sales activities, and evolve with the company’s scale and growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • EEMEA ownership of Activate; leading the roll out and sales activities for both FMCG and T&D retailers.
  • Stay up to date with market trends, competitive landscape, new products/services. 
  • Manage and build long-term trusting relationships with partners.  
  • Deliver sales and revenue targets.
  • Ownership of all pitches and proposals, working across functions to ensure a best-in-class approach is consistently delivered.
  • Be an Activate expert; understand how to present the relevant use cases across personas and the best ways to engage with the various retailers to demonstrate the value and ROI of the Activate portfolio.
  • Ensure a maximum client reach and penetration in terms of Activate awareness as well as proposals, active client users and revenue.
  • Ensure that all local Activate teams are fully trained and equipped to achieve the Activate business objectives.
  • Create and execute client activation strategies.
  • Work closely with Global Retail Commercial and GTM team to support and deliver the overall retailer strategy.
  • Proactively identify new partnership opportunities in the market, qualify leads and initiate sales processes.
  • Identify client-specific needs and offer the appropriate product / solution. 
  • Customize product presentation & Marketing collateral to better fit the customer requirements. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

Client / Industry

  • Deep understanding of how loyalty and transactional data are used by retailers and manufacturers
  • Deep understanding of client organizations and the retail sector
  • Experience in loyalty, promotion personalization, retail media, and digital advertising 
  • Knowledge of the clients’ business and industry landscape and dynamics
  • Ability to create and sustain relationships at all key client personas (especially C-Suite stakeholders)

Commercial skills

  • Ability to build strong lasting relationships with clients, suppliers and stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of the value of NIQ - GfK proposition and future potential
  • Liaison with NIQ - GfK stakeholders for current and developing opportunities
  • Ability to identify revenue opportunities, develop and execute sales strategies
  • Excellent negotiation skills

Project Management

  • Ability to set and communicate strategies for success to all levels of the business
  • Able to achieve buy-in from account managers and support teams to deliver
  • Ability to translate requirements into specific action items
  • Lateral leadership to all NIQ - GfK stakeholders to develop and deliver on vision.
  • Effective operator in a matrix structure
