Job Description

Position Summary:

The Collection Associate is a critical member of the Cash Application and Collection team within Global Finance Operations, reporting to the Cash Application and Collection Lead[AD1] , and will be responsible for managing the collection process for NIQ's accounts receivable portfolio. This includes monitoring and pursuing overdue accounts, negotiating payment plans with clients, and maintaining accurate records of all collection activities. The role requires strong analytical skills to assess clients' financial statuses and determine the most effective collection strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Account Management: Monitor client accounts for non-payment, delayed payments, and other irregularities, including maintaining detailed records of disputes and actions taken.
  • Collection Strategies: Employ effective collection techniques to ensure timely collection of payments while maintaining a high level of customer retention. Define and achieve collection targets in conjunction with the I2C Manager and Revenue Controller.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with clients through phone calls, emails, and letters to negotiate payment plans and resolve billing disputes. Communicate effectively with Client Service and Revenue Controllers regarding commercial disputes resolutions.
  • Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of all collection activities, including detailed notes on the negotiation process and updates on client account statuses. Perform customer reconciliations to ensure accurate follow-up on collections.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with collection laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. Escalate issues as needed to ensure alignment with internal processes for recovery of past-due resources.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present reports on collection activities and account statuses to management. Monitor and report on customer account details regularly.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service regarding collection issues, process account adjustments, and resolve client disputes and short payments. Request and support re-invoicing according to client specifications.
  • Team Collaboration: Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with Revenue Associates and the Cash Applications team to support financial disputes resolution and invoicing reconciliation.
  • Must have SAP working and technical knowledge along with the ability to deliver against test scripts with insightful communications regarding results

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within cash management or collections, preferably in a multinational corporation.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with legal and regulatory aspects of debt collection.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize tasks.
  • Experience with customer service and conflict resolution.
  • Knowledge of accounting software and CRM systems.
