Title : Web scraping Analyst

About the job

Data collection and maintenance is a critical area for NIQ Trade dimensions (TD) service. Data is either collected directly from retailers (fieldwork, cooperation agreements) or through other sources/methods.

Other sources include web-scraping and online research etc. and are part of the TD input data collection and maintenance work. This job opening is of a global scope, focusing on international markets, and involves web-scraping and other input data related work.

The person will primarily work on collecting and maintaining store level data for specified countries using proprietary NIQ tools and additional programs/processes. The objectives are

  1. To generate a list of stores that we can get additional details for and use
  2. To collect data from designated websites (e-comm, retailers etc)

Responsibilities

  • To use NIQ proprietary tools and standard tools/programs to collect and maintain store data and location data
  • To be involved in configuring, collecting, organizing and maintain store and location data in a  standard format for specified countries
  • Support project-level execution on need basis

Qualifications

Ideal candidate background

  • Data analytics experience with Python knowledge is preferred (1+ years)
  • Basic knowledge and skill in managing/working with data from the Internet (web
  • Background in market research, specifically with store observation experience is preferred
  • Experience in working with large databases including cleansing and standardisation
  • Tech (BE, BTECH)/GIS background with Computer programming knowledge would be ideal
