Job Description

Reporting to the Sales Director, Metdata Solutions, the Portfolio Account Manager will be ambitious, energetic and part of the goal-oriented sales team.  You will work closely with the wider sales team.

We have a fantastic opportunity within our Nielsen Book business to account manage a territory of entry-level publisher accounts that will comprise a wide range of publishing clients that supply inbound metadata that feeds and have annual subscription services with Nielsen BookData to include their data in outbound feeds to our client base around the world. The publishers in this territory are largely based in the UK however, there will be a growing number from EMEA and other emerging territories around the globe.

The successful candidate will work closely with the business development teams and the wider sales team to identify opportunities for growth in their client base and will be responsible for the smooth transition to account manage customers after they have been onboarded to Nielsen BookData. This is a vital role that will set the bar for excellent client communication , account management and to identify the possibilities for revenue growth within recently onboarded clients.

This role does not have any direct reports .

This role may involve limited travel and international travel 5% of the time.

You will:

  • Manage a portfolio of publisher clients, and will be responsible for handling timely renewals, correctly identifying usage patterns of metadata services and handling contract negotiations for publishers supplying us inbound metadata.
  • Seek out opportunities to grow revenue streams within the account portfolio and identify cross-sell, and upsell opportunities for additional metadata services to the client base from our growing portfolio of services available to Publishers.
  • Maximise client retention and handle contract negotiations for renewals in a timely manner and keep all records up to date in our CRM SalesForce.
  • Communicate internally and externally to ensure account is run smoothly and efficiently with support teams and the wider sales team, and ensure feedback is provided to relevant product development teams, agree on marketing messages with Sales Director and Marketing team.

Qualifications

You have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a passion for first-rate customer service and ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Record of account management experience and strong collaboration across internal teams.
  • Knowledge of the Book Trade and emerging trends in the Publishing Industry advantageous . Record of exemplary account management, ability to build rapport as a trusted partner with clients at a senior level, skilled at presenting the value message for customers, confidence presenting and representing a valued brand at industry events, skilled at conducting account review meetings with clients, territory planning.
  • Strong negotiation skills with ability to negotiate ongoing / new contracts with strong business acumen and eye for detail to convey a value message that is relevant to the client.
