Job Description

At NielsenIQ, the Sub Cluster lead lead’s all aspects of accounting for cluster of countries from the R2R front. Perform R2R related activities like processing journals, works on Balance sheet reconciliations and also take active part in the month/ Quarter and year closing activities as well as coordinate activities between team members and deal with cross towers for supporting and workings. Supervising accounting activities specific to the respective markets for R2R.

  • Manage and lead a small group of team working for a specific cluster, provide services related to financial accounting and other MIS reports to the local business 
  • Ensure adequate performance and reporting on the following by leveraging both onshore and offshore teams: 
  • US-GAAP accounting/closing, accruals, and account reconciliations 
  • Financial closing and consolidation 
  • Coordinate with other teams / towers P2P, Revenue, Banking , Intercompany etc. as well as with the Onshore team on the financial aspects.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant global, regional or local policies, procedures and guidelines 
  • Drive standardization and simplification in the team and take initiatives as governed by the Global or Regional COE core teams or by Finance leadership 
  • Help in preparing monthly closing dashboard and guide the team in preparing quarterly and year-end reporting packs in accordance with corporate requirements for the markets.
  • Support and guide markets for all local internal audit and compliance review assignments, including any SOX or distributed audits, participate in discussion with auditors and help resolve Audit queries.
  • Lead and execute on initiatives and ways of work to continually evolve the finance function under the umbrella of the Global COE 
  • Collaborate with the Finance teams to maintain or implement best-in-class policies and help in updating and preparing the SOP’s for specific processes.
  • Develop and implement procedures and operational ways of work in a standardized, efficient, and effective manner for all markets in the cluster.
  • Maintain thorough and current understanding of GAAP. Keep abreast of emerging accounting and reporting standards. Support the implementation of new accounting pronouncements as required.
  • Communicate and collaborate routinely with other finance colleagues in other regions, providing direction related to key processes and related changes, the sharing of best practices and keeping the process upto date.

Qualifications

  • Post Graduate Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Fluency in English; second or third regional language preferred 
  • 6 - 11 years relevant professional experience with small team management experience in a medium to large international company.
  • Experience in driving process improvement within a Finance organization
  • Must have good exposure and experience of the R2R process
  • Must have good knowledge of US GAAP, with strong technical accounting, process, and controls background
  • Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP, MS Office) and IT-PC literate 
  • Good communication skills team player and capable of handing and guiding a small team of 4-5 team members.
