Job Description

Senior Consumer Research Executive -Stockport (Hybrid)

About this job

CGA’s Senior Consumer Research Executives are instrumental in leading the setup and management of both qualitative and quantitative consumer research projects, enabling the team to unlock best-in-class consumer insight and uncover the key trends influencing the market and our client’s businesses. They support the Research Managers closely on more complex projects and independently lead more straightforward research, with consult from the Managers.

Working closely with CGA’s client teams to understand client objectives and research goals the Senior Consumer Research Executive helps to design research solutions that meet the client’s brief and analyse the results to produce relevant insight and recommendations.

The Senior Consumer Research Exec is a mentor within the research team and a key project team member for consumer workstreams.

Responsibilities

Research

  • Understanding of the different qualitative and quantitative research methods available & demonstrates pro-activity in learning more about different research techniques
  • Processing, manipulating and interpreting consumer data you will work on a range of projects to uncover actionable insight and recommendations for clients
  • Leading the setup, management and moderation of various qualitative research methodologies (including working with relevant recruitment channels/companies/third-party suppliers)
  • Leading the design of surveys/topic/moderator/ guides for focus groups and field research to meet client requirements,
  • Working with juniors to ensure the scripting of surveys accurately using CGA’s chosen scripting tools
  • Work to design efficient research projects including those with multi-stage sample design, response rates and sample size calculations in order to specify a sample design that meets the research brief
  • Support junior team members with third-party relationships, including online panel providers, field & recruitment providers
  • Ensure the smooth running of all projects; do this effectively to meet all required deadlines, making sure all quality procedures are adhered to, abiding by MRS Code of Practice

Analysis & Presentation Creation

  • Responsible for planning analysis and extracting all data required for analysis or briefs
  • Analyse qualitative data identifying key themes in line with objectives & write reports
  • Analyse statistical data, identifying key trends to provide clients with results from their projects in line with research objectives
  • Support with more advanced analysis techniques, such as statistical testing, and how sampling and weighting issues affect analysis in order to analyse and interpret the data accurately
  • Implement market knowledge to plan analyses, accurately interpret data and to apply the relevant context.
  • Construct brief relevant & attractive presentations that provide clear direction to clients
  • Consistently tell a relevant story to clients using research findings
  • Work with client and CGA client teams to deliver within project timeframes and to meet brief objectives
  • Support client teams in the delivery of presentations of consumer research projects

Client Management & Commercial

  • Support the team to propose, pitch & win consumer projects/contracts
  • Responsible for delivering excellent customer service at all times
  • Responsible for building great relationships with assigned key contacts, across internal stakeholders and key supplier and client contacts
  • Confidently handle research requests and queries from client teams, managing expectations around timings and communicating these effectively
  • Clearly communicate the features & benefits of consumer research
  • Proactive in sharing interesting trends or insights identified either in trade, in the press, or from wider CGA work with the client
  • Proactively build an understanding of client businesses through personal reading/research & team discussions
  • Showcase commercial awareness & understanding of CGA’s client portfolio & importance of revenue generation to CGA business
  • Support in managing supplier costs effectively, negotiating acceptable costs & contract agreements with suppliers

People Management

  • Responsible for managing project timelines and own resources, communicating effectively with line manager and wider consumer team, including SCRM’s, to ensure time available to meet all client needs
  • Provide regular progress updates on all deliveries to SCRM’SCRMs  and stakeholders
  • Coach and mentor more junior members of the team and guide them with the tasks they conduct whilst encouraging development
  • Support & up-skill fellow team members through knowledge shares & training
