Job Description

You will play a significant role in developing new revenue streams for the Consumer Insights team, focusing on Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and Retailer sectors in South East Asia (SEA). At NielsenIQ, you are known as a trusted partner to our clients and industry experts to our colleagues.

Responsibilities

Market Research Fundamentals

  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of key practices i.e., consumers/brands, shoppers, and customer satisfaction in interactions with internal/external stakeholders. Qualitative knowledge & experience will be a bonus.
  • Work with the in-markets team to design multi-country proposals with a competitive advantage
  • Ability to generate actionable insights to address clients’ business questions and drive value for them

Business and Financial management

  • Understand and leverage the business and financial information to drive success
  • Prepare an accurate forecast of pipeline and revenue for SEA – FMCG & Retailers
  • Win business at a healthy margin to improve the CI bottom line
  • Demonstrate a high say-do ratio (commitment vs. achievement)
  • Deliver on the financial targets assigned overall as well as by product type, client segment, and market/country

Sales Strategy and Sales Enablement

  • Understand the business dynamics and emerging trends in the markets across SEA (core focus)
  • Identify the white spaces by geography and by client segments. Develop a short-term as well as a long-term plan to capitalize on those opportunities
  • Play a pivotal role in increasing the win ratio of multi-country proposals and focus clients by collaborating with various international stakeholders. This will include in-person presentations with the clients in specific markets, basis SOPs
  • Leverage the NIQ relationship with regional/global clients and drive the business development with those clients in the markets where it is not strong enough
  • Use and where necessary enhances product/vertical credentials to win new clients.
  • Ability to negotiate win-win solutions with internal and external stakeholders
  • Help the teams across SEA to develop and sell syndicated CI products

Communications

  • Demonstrate simplicity across all forms of communication
  • Take the lead in driving & coaching on compelling storytelling
  • Able to communicate with the Top/C-level audience

Capacity Building

  • Identify and share the best practices across SEA
  • Provide coaching to teams on new emerging MR tools as well as complex traditional tools such as pricing, segmentation, system 1, behavioral management research, etc.
  • Mentoring and grooming assigned young talent through 1-1 interactions

Collaborative Relationship

  • Closely work with market leaders, CI commercial leaders, and regional as well as local operations leaders to accomplish shared objectives

Client Management

  • Engage the high priority/focus clients, remotely as well as visiting them in markets on regular basis and become their trusted advisor
  • Support the CI teams in increasing the NPS (client satisfaction scores with NIQ)
  • Get involved, where necessary, in the final study presented to the clients

Thought Leadership

  • Have a public presence by participating as a speaker in NIQ/clients’/industry events
  • Develop thought leadership case studies/white papers based on the syndicated projects and other initiatives
  • Promote NIQ values & expertise through active participation in the larger NIQ network

Qualifications

  • University degree preferably in Marketing, Research, or a Business-related field
  • 8 - 10 extensive years of working experience in Market Research or Business Analytics and Client Servicing; with solid Market Research processes and structure understanding and experience with FMCG and Retailer clients
  • Experience in client-side jobs (Manufacturer/Retailer) in Consumer Insights will be a plus
  • Good knowledge of statistics, multivariate analysis, research techniques, and methodologies 
  • Experience in Qualitative research will be a plus
  • Strong business acumen, strategic perspective, and good knowledge of market dynamics
  • Experience with people management and being client-centric
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Competent negotiator with effective influencing skills
