This job resides within the BASES Design practice of NielsenIQ. BASES Design is a team of researchers who specialize in blending creativity with strong analytics to help clients evaluate and optimize their strategic brand visuals (e.g. packaging, signage, web design, etc.). We help brands succeed by revealing the human response to design with expertise, world-class Neuro and survey techniques, agility, and predictive power.
This role is accountable for the translation of the global commercial strategy for Design to North America as well as meeting financial targets for Design North America. It entails working with the Region Design Leader in creating a strategy to retain existing clients and attract new ones in this space via both direct Specialty Sales outreach as well as in collaboration with Account Development. The North America Design Specialty Sales Director is accountable for accurately managing an active sales pipeline with consistent sales forecasting as well as prospecting, value creation, negotiating and closing deals.
Responsibilities
- Support Region Design North America Leader in the creation of the vision and strategy of Design
- Translate and execute global vision/strategy for Design North America
- Own a revenue target/quota within North America Design
- Drive profitable growth – ensure appropriate cost to revenue
- Craft client engagement plans alongside Account Development
- Own proposal development
- Identify important thought leadership/meta-analytic topic areas that would help advance the practice
- Drive business results through consultative selling and leveraging thought leadership and case studies to help further develop client relationships
- Clearly and convincingly articulate BASES Design offerings and value proposition, matching them with relevant client business challenges/KPIs
- Objection handling and overcoming resistance from both current and prospective clients
- Obtaining client testimonials and case studies
- Support the end-to-end sales process through engagement of appropriate resources such as ADs, Customer Success, Operations, and Finance.
- Ensure internal processes are followed for Design sales, including adherence to tracking customer and transactional information in CRM system and other sales and operational processes.
- Maintain broader BASES product/technical knowledge by participating in learning workshops/sessions across tools.
- Model appropriate behaviors across the job responsibilities of collaboration, study design/pricing, and job coordination.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or certification requirements
- 8+ years professional experience; at least 4 in a custom research or brand insights role
- Industry experience within a research/insights role
- Neuroscience experience a plus
- Proficiency in CRM (MS Dynamics 365 preferred), Power BI, and MS Office
- Personality traits include: creative, consultative, research-minded, strong presenter, and collaborator
