NielsenIQ is looking for a Data Engineer to join our Financial Services Engineering team in Toronto. We use alternative datasets to help global public equity make better investment decisions and work with some of the largest hedge funds in the world.

As a Data Engineer, you will be at the cutting edge of the alternative data space where you will help maintain and improve our data infrastructure, which enables us to develop market research products and delivery data to our customers. In this role, you would also get the opportunity to work with world-class big data and cloud services, such as: AWS/Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, DBT, Airflow, and Looker. Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Work with software and data engineering teams to improve our data infrastructure for increased reliability, maintainability, and scalability.
  • Architect and design solutions to improve our data delivery capabilities, data quality monitoring, and data pipeline lifecycle.
  • Integrate data with Cloud based platforms, APIs and Portals.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of designing and building production data pipelines from ingestion to consumption in a cloud environment using SQL and Python.
  • Experience with software development principles and best practices.
  • Experience in cloud application architecture & administration in AWS or Azure.
  • Hands-on experience designing, building and operationalizing large-scale enterprise data solutions and applications. (Airflow, Databricks, Snowflake, Serverless Functions, Cloud storage preferred).
  • Background in custom ETL design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux Command Line Interface (CLI).
