Our NielsenIQ Technology teams are working on our new “Connect” platform, a unified, global, open data ecosystem powered by Microsoft Azure. Our clients around the world rely on NielsenIQ’s data and insights to innovate and grow.
As a Software Engineer, you’ll be part of a team of smart, highly skilled technologists who are passionate about learning and prototyping cutting-edge technologies. Right now our platform is based in Ext/JS, React or Angular. (Sencha ExtJS is an added advantage). Our team is co-located and agile, with central technology hubs in Chicago, Madrid, Toronto and Chennai.

Responsibilities

• Writing code that creates new programs that satisfy requirements 
• Writing code that develops existing programs to add features or make them more efficient
• Testing code and adjusting until programs work reliably as required 
• Identifying and correcting program bugs 
• Ability working in an agile development environment and using agile tool

• 6-10 years of hands-on Software development
• Working experience in Ext/JS, React (Sencha ExtJS is an added advantage) 
• Experience is converting applications from Sencha to React 
• Work experience on Integration protocols (HTTP, REST and SOAP) 
• Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms 
• Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery 
• Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX 
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them. 
• Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image
