This is a remote/hybrid role - the candidate needs to reside in the Chicagoland area as the team goes into the office 1 - 2 days a week. 

General Overview 
If you are a Tax Accounting and Compliance professional looking for an opportunity to grow, NielsenIQ has an exciting opportunity for you.  A Hybrid role based out of our Chicago, Illinois location, you will interact with all aspects of our accounting for income taxes and federal and state tax compliance.  Team members will gain exposure across multiple subject areas of the Corporate Tax function with opportunities to work with the finance, transfer pricing and tax planning teams.   

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in managing complete lifecycle for accounting for income taxes on a worldwide basis, including annual, quarterly, and forecasted tax rate computations, completing return to provision analysis and reconciliation of balance sheet tax accounts. 

  • Facilitate the timely preparation, review and filing of consolidated federal and state corporate and partnership income tax returns through co-sourcing engagement with third party providers.   

  • Perform federal tax return calculations, including IRC Section 163(j), research and development tax credit, BEAT, and net operating loss carryforwards.   

  • Provide IRS and state audit assistance, including developing audit-ready files to support current and prior year tax returns. 

  • Gather and review due diligence reports, tax returns, and other information to determine the tax accounting implications for acquisitions. 

  • Assist global finance personnel with tax related issues and educate individuals in ASC 740, OneSource Tax Provision, and internal control procedures for tax. 

  • Find opportunities for automation, efficiency, and improvements in tax processes. 

  • Perform ad hoc analysis of tax issues to support management inquiries, as requested. 

  • Special projects as assigned. 

Position Deliverables—Year 1 

  1. Assist with meeting all federal and state income tax return filing deadlines, including meeting all internal deadlines with co-sourcing teams. 

  1. Assist with meeting all quarterly and year-end tax accounting requirements.   

  1. Build strong cross-functional relationships with accounting, treasury, and finance groups.   
     

Requirements: 

  • 1-3 years with public accounting and/or general corporate tax experience.  

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance required.   

  • Master’s in Tax, preferred.   

  • Broad knowledge of ASC 740 and federal tax laws.   

  • Track record of being a team player with effective communication skills, including strong organizational skills for multi-tasking. 

  • OneSource Tax Provision, Hyperion Financial Management, or SAP preferred.
