Job Description:

As a Director of Technology of our Front-end Applications, you will be at the core of NielsenIQ’ s future. You can expect to go broad and deep on our tech stack, and across multiple products in your business segment, all the while leading a best-in-class team. You will be playing a key part in the delivery of critical programs that are strategically aligned to our overall business strategy and growth objectives.

  • Drive delivery and end-to-end management of large-scale, business-impacting initiatives
  • Drive and lead technical conversations, including architecture review, code review, and the SDLC process.
  • Lead globally distributed technology teams through programs and projects to create, enhance and maintain applications, platforms, technology systems and processes.
  • Engage with product and business leaders to understand business needs and translate these needs into executable solutions, while managing expectations, gathering requirements, and managing the RFP process for large-scale programs
  • Establish strong collaborative relationships with key internal Clients, CoEs and other stakeholders.
  • Continuously drive process improvements, manage, coach, and foster the development of our technical talent.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s in computer science or related field
  • 10+ years’ experience in technology roles; including experience in Software Engineering, delivery, and architecture/design.
  • 4+ years of technology project management experience is required
  • 6+ years’ experience leading large scale, global application teams, using Azure Cloud native technologies.
  • Prior hands-on experience in front-end full stack architectures including Angular/JavaScript/Java (or equivalent) and microservices, is a must.
  • Solve technical problems, code, and debug, and occasionally participate in client meetings.
  • Responsible for developing UI/UX and common component standardization across front-end frameworks across projects.
  • Includes creating processes, training sessions, reviewing code, and leading dev meetings.
  • Advanced knowledge of data structures, algorithms and designing for performance, scalability, and availability
  • Led cross-functional, highly distributed teams through the execution of large-scale projects using Agile development
  • Designed and built global front end applications.
  • Advanced understanding of user facing apps, business intelligence, and designing for performance, scalability, high availability, and fault tolerance.
  • Experience driving progress towards the model of CI/CD, TDD, Containerization, Container management and orchestration.
  • Awareness of the projects your team members are actively working on and providing the first level of support to your team.
  • Lead junior, mid, and senior-level developers and continue to foster our creative, focused, developer-friendly work environment.
  • Mentor and encourage your team through technology sharing and expertise in key platforms and technologies.
  • Ability to identify problems with requirements, identify alternatives, and help your team navigate through these issues.
  • Directly responsible for the career advancement of the Front-End Developers at various stages of career growth.
