About this Job
This role is accountable for driving long-term client growth through building strong client relationships and driving revenue, with a strong focus on sales and identifying new revenue-generating opportunities. It involves developing a strong understanding of client’s priorities and providing solutions, recommendations, and new products, as relevant, that are aligned to client business issues and meet their changing needs. This includes taking ownership for the sales process, product development and overall data quality to maintain and grow existing business and find new opportunities.
Responsibilities
As an Account Manager – Discovery, your role and responsibilities include:
- Being accountable for servicing accounts using the bibliographic database service, Nielsen BookData Online, and related bibliographic services and products, in Australia
- Provide training and support for all BookData Discovery services
- Devise and deliver effective methods for servicing clients to agreed levels, maintaining high levels of satisfaction in services provided, data quality and accuracy and training needs.
- Lead key account relationships and provide high level of satisfaction service, measurable via the annual BookData customer satisfaction survey, and provide support to existing clients (in terms of products, services, integrated solutions, data quality, accuracy and training needs)
- Understand your clients’ business objectives so that Nielsen BookData can continue to deliver insights and new products that meet their needs
- Initiating new business contacts through sales pipeline and developing new sales leads
- Create an awareness of BookData Discovery services and promote, quote and deliver this business
- A strong focus on increasing sales pipeline by actively seeking new sales leads and revenue opportunities
- Work closely with the Territory Manager to help develop and support product offerings and integrated solutions that meet clients’ needs, and identify new products and services to support business growth
- Representing Nielsen BookData in key commercial relationships, including value-add services for clients such as conducting on-site workshops, identifying needs based on client’s strategic focus, and delivering presentations
- Develop an understanding of all Nielsen BookData products and the benefits they offer to our clients
- Work closely with colleagues in Nielsen BookScan, other Nielsen BookData divisions and – where appropriate – other NielsenIQ divisions to provide outstanding levels of service to key clients
Qualifications
- Degree qualified in marketing or business, or relevant industry experience
- Previous experience in the book publishing industry desirable but not essential
- B2B / Commercial sales experience including client-facing, consultative engagement (5 years experience)
- Strong communication skills and commercial acumen with a poise and confidence to interact, and build strong, trust-based client relationships at a senior level
- Goal-orientated and able to seek new opportunities and grow revenue, as well as support company initiatives to grow revenue across all Nielsen BookData services
- Ability to present and craft communications that engage and excite the audience
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple, time-sensitive projects and prioritise against multiple client demands
- Excellent attention to detail
- Structured, process driven approach
- Strong MS Office skills, particularly Microsoft Powerpoint and Excel
- Champions new initiatives and innovation
- A strong team player and contributor
- Interstate travel may be involved at times throughout the year to engage with key clients, attend book industry conferences and conduct client workshops
