Job Description

ABOUT THIS JOB

Lead a sales team to deliver against the commercial goals for the assigned group of clients. Through this team, we will grow our existing clientele base as well as identify new business to achieve planned financial objectives and other operational performance indicators.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Management

  • Achieve revenue, profitability, quality, speed of delivery, productivity and client satisfaction targets as well as other related business development objectives as assigned
  • Closely monitor the actual financial performance against budget/forecast using designated tools and ensure the implementation of appropriate actions and mitigation plans as required that will lead to the achievement of financial targets
  • Ensure local business strategies are implemented according to regional directions in order to meet the financial and business objectives of the division
  • Ensure proper pricing and contracts are completed and approved according to company's policies and guidelines
  • Accountable for compensation / penalties discussions with clients
  • When required, support our Account Receivable teams with cash collection from assigned clients

Talent

  • Utilize the performance management system to set, track and evaluate performance for your team
  • Establish high standards of performance and role model these
  • Act as coach, guide, and mentor to employees, within and outside of your team
  • Drive a strong team environment focused on exceeding internal/external client requirements, and collaborating across the organization with relevant partners
  • Contribute to driving world-class employee satisfaction through the implementation of relevant organizational initiatives that build on employee commitment

Business Development

  • Identify areas of business opportunity and growth for the Retail Intelligence, Analytics and Consumer Business Units
  • Maintain and further foster relationships with current clients
  • Develop plans to cross-sell and introduce new services to current clients
  • Conduct thorough business development processes to identify incremental revenue opportunities from new clients and stakeholders
  • Increase company exposure through participating in associations, webinars and/or seminars
  • Contribute to the short-term strategies and business plans for the growth of Business Unit based on global, regional and cluster directions
  • Provide continuous feedback on competitive activities
  • Where required, input into NielsenIQ Business Identity – reviewing and developing sales materials: developing of NielsenIQ capabilities deck and methodology presentation, prepare new product launches/campaign flyers, prepare client letters, build proposal/contract templates, and all generic PR activities (external comms to clients)

Client Engagement

  • Ensure the implementation of Sales Plans based on Joint Business Planning that will contribute to maximum client satisfaction and ensure continuous profitable and business growth
  • Expand our scope of influence with clients across a wider range of products and with greater depth of involvement
  • Foster relationships at all levels and functions of client organizations to identify opportunities for incremental product/solution sales
  •  Ensure adherence to the company policies on business conduct/ethics when servicing clients

Product Enhancement:

  • Contribute to the Product Enhancement development together with Product Leadership, Operations & Data Science Leaders
  • Identify client needs: situation/competitor assessment, need assessment, potential solutions
  • Participate in creation of the Product Enhancement plan & timeline: communicating the voice of client
  • Develop pricing proposal & commercial approach with the relevant leaders
  • Support the proper communication of the new product and its benefits with clients

Organizational Management and Development

  • Participate in local and cluster initiatives as part of continuing leadership development
  • Work across functional business units to support organizational initiatives and business needs
  • Promote inter-departmental and inter-divisional communications and teamwork

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum 8 years of working experience in FMCG (retailer/marketing/sales) or research-related industry experience (insights/category/shopper/agency)
  • Proven expert knowledge of the market research industry
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Exceptional client servicing and negotiation skills
  • Prior people management experience
  • Fluent in English, strong written and verbal communication skills
