Business Development Manager – Consumer Insights 

About the job 
In this role You will act as a Consumer Insights expert, driving business development opportunities with global/regional client stakeholders (HQs level) and taking the lead on key pitches and proposals. 
 
You will support the Global/Regional Client Business Partners to execute on their account plans and help drive client conversations around Consumer Insights solutions. You will be also responsible for a revenue target and will work with local CI teams to prepare winning multi-country and strategic local proposals and join local client conversations as needed. 

The position is a part of a wider team reporting into the CI Commercial Activation Leader. It will require up to 10% of travels (mostly within Germany and Europe) and can be based anywhere in Germany. 
 

Responsibilities 

  • Building contact lists for HQ, regional and local client prospects 

  • Contacting and meeting clients to create opportunities 

  • Delivering capabilities/sales presentation in a professional and convincing manner 

  • Developing strategy and account plans on regional and global level 

  • Leading / supporting proposal writing  

  • Developing sales or supporting materials as needed 
     

About you 
You are passionate to understand your clients’ businesses. Curiosity will be critical as you embark on a discovery of your clients’ research needs, whilst knowledge of consumer insights methodologies will be essential to help identify the right solutions to meet their requirements. 
You are strong on relationship building and will act as an advisor to your clients, adding value through your industry/ research knowledge. 
 

Qualifications 

  • 8 years or above of consumer research experience 

  • Experience with Shopper research highly desirable 

  • Consultative Selling and business development competency 

  • Strong communication and coordination skills 

  • Proactive and able to work as an individual contributor as well as part of a virtual team 

  • Able to deliver client presentations in a professional manner 

  • Relationship building skills and ability to interact with C-level stakeholders 

  • Fluent in English and German
