The Strategic Partnerships & Sourcing Organization within Nielsen is responsible for making it easy for our employees to buy, travel and contract for the best possible value.

The Regional Procurement Lead will be responsible for managing those vendor relationships that help NielsenIQ collect and deliver data, analysis and insights. Managing the relationship will entail both ensuring vendor performance, due diligence, and vendor strategy, as well as leading the end-to-end contracting process including pricing negotiations.

This role requires candidate to have demonstrated strong leadership skills and the ability to lead others

Responsibilities

  • Lead sourcing related projects for assigned spend categories and geographical region of APAC, and assist with the development of overall sourcing strategy and opportunity.
  • Successfully manage multiple projects through cross-functional collaboration and a disciplined approach to project management that enables consistent implementation.
  • Support complex, strategic projects.
  • Analyze large data sets effectively, identify process improvement solutions, and formulate recommendations.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with Legal, Operations and Finance internal customers.
  • Develop deep category expertise for categories under management, including a detailed knowledge of the supply base, best practice sourcing strategies, and project-specific service level agreements.
  • Compile customized reports from internal databases and other resources to analyze vendor information in order to understand current costs and ensure best pricing.
  • Run competitive bid processes including RFP's, RFI's, RFQ's.
  • Lead internal customers through the vendor evaluation and selection process.
  • Responsible for leading negotiations, developing negotiation strategies, completing the contracting process, and resolving disputes.
  • Ensure organizational goals, including budget, savings, and supplier performance measures, are met. Identify strategies to reduce expense through renegotiation of existing agreements.
  • Participate in any supplier scorecard evaluations process and benchmarking. Facilitate reviews with suppliers of varying strategic importance within the organization.
  • Help drive supplier improvement where necessary.
  • Be aware of supply chain policies and processes and be able to explain the rules and guidelines to internal customers. Lead internal project teams through the vendor evaluation and selection process.

 Technical Requirements

  • Strong follow-up skills; ability to organize applicable timelines and follow up with customer needs.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast paced environment.
  • Mastery-level negotiation skills and experience negotiating contracts
  • Has demonstrated the ability to lead others as well as having the necessary leadership qualities to train, motivate and inspire colleagues within the same team.
  • Proven experience in building and sustaining positive relationships.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Sourcing, Procurement or Marketing certifications a plus.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience with a track record of meeting and exceeding goals and objectives preferred
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating statements of work and service level agreements for individual requirements and within a fixed contract strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications (i.e. Outlook, Teams, Office Suite)
