Job Description

Our NielsenIQ Technology teams are working on our new “Connect” platform, a unified, global, open data ecosystem powered by Microsoft Azure. Our clients around the world rely on NielsenIQ’s data and insights to innovate and grow. 

As a Software Engineer, you will participate in the design and exploration of the solutions that will be implemented in the future of the company. The candidate should be passionate about technology, computer science, and problem-solving. 

What you’ll do:  

  • Participate in the discovery stage of the Innovation process.  
  • Understand a business case and identify the key aspects for the success of the project.  
  • Propose, draft, and execute Proofs of Concept (PoC), to reduce the uncertainty of the approach. 
  • Define and document standards, processes, and guidelines. 
  • Understand different business metrics and KPIs.  
  • Contribute to architectural designs, potentially involving several distinct software components. 
  • Working closely with Data Scientists and a wide range of stakeholders to ensure technical compatibility. 
  • Work as a team member, encouraging team building, motivation and cultivating effective team relations.  
  • Support and maintenance (troubleshoot issues with data and applications). 
  • Tackle software challenges overweighting simplicity and maintainability.  

We’re looking for people who have: 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering. 
  • 1 - 2 years of engineer experience
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking.  
  • Experience in the use of collaborative tools such as GitHub, Atlassian, GitLab, etc. 
  • Knowledge in Object-Oriented Programming. 
  • Proficiency in Python. 
  • Experience with other programming languages: C++, C#, Java. 
  • Ability to keep fluid communication in English, both written and spoken. 
  • Experience working with cloud computing providers like Azure, GCP or AWS. 
  • Knowledge of distributed systems. 
  • Basic knowledge of Machine Learning systems and operations.E - Strong ability to analyze and synthesize. 
  • Proactive attitude, resolutive, used to working in a team, managing deadlines, and ability to learn quickly. 
  • Agile software development.
