Job Description

The Director, Client Analytics/Data Science will provide technical thought leadership, business strategy and best in-class practice approaches to support, consult, and recommend the implementation of client projects.

The professional will be accessing, analyzing and interpreting customer driven data on behalf of NielsenIQ clients to facilitate the implementation of NielsenIQ targeted marketing initiatives by leveraging statistics, mathematics and econometrics to support the optimization of marketing and promotion schedules, and create best in class strategic
recommendations to our clients.

This will be maintained while balancing key strategic relationships both internally and externally in a diplomatic fashion.


This role is an integral part of the Consulting and Data Science & Delivery Team.

The successful candidate will have 5 or more years of relevant experience in the B2B or retail industries and proficient in statistical and econometric modeling in marketing analytics applications.

The candidate will understand the business needs of a B2B or retailer client as well as ensure appropriate analytical approaches will be executed and translate this into the best insights to answer questions encountered in the implementation of marketing applications with these clients.


The candidate will be able to balance initiatives between NielsenIQ and Client in a diplomatic, and strategic manner that ensures successful  relationship management and outcomes between key stakeholders.


Responsibilities


 Thought lead the execution of new strategic marketing projects with clients, including gathering and documenting requirements,
requesting inputs, developing work plan, facilitating execution of recommendations and presenting results and recommendations.
 Support on-going project executions, including overall project management on the analytics side, validation of input data,
validation of recommendations, interpretation of measurements, and addressing all client questions.
 Show diplomatic approach to relationship engagement between client and NielsenIQ stakeholders, and apply change management
where necessary to implement successful outcomes.
 Partner with Client Services team to facilitate the execution of projects and developing new business at existing clients.
 Support the Vendor team in gathering requirements from client suppliers to support supplier- sponsored targeted marketing
programs.
 Identify, develop and make recommendations for process improvements and best practices.
 Innovate, and identify thought leading strategic projects for client that prove value of engagement.
 Mentor, Coach, and lead team around approaches, hone work and skill sets of team members.
 Serve team members – support, develop and push towards high levels of success and future career growth.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • MUST have Customer Based Marketing experience.

  • Effective people management experience including developing team and individual growth plans, coaching/mentoring, and aligning business goals to team objectives

  • Proven servant leadership style, and diplomatic communicator 

  • Master’s degree or greater in Statistics, Operations Research, Mathematics, Economics, Econometrics, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science

  • Minimum of 5 years of directly related work experience in marketing analytics, and at least 3 years proven leading a team of data science or analytic professionals

  • Proficiency in working with statistical and econometric models in marketing to support clients in B2B, Retail and CPG areas.

  • Coding experience in SQL, Python, R Preferred 

  • Strong Business Acumen & Experience Synthesizing complex analytic work to a business solution result
