Job Description

The Quality Control (QC) Checker is part of an independent team responsible for checking fieldwork quality on projects being conducted by NielsenIQ outsourced vendors. The QC Checker must be unbiased, process driven and able to document outcomes accurately and objectively. This role is responsible for conducting fieldwork Validation Checks in a professional manner and ensure that accurate validation method(s), timing and instructions are followed at all times. 

Responsibilities

  • Field sampling procedures and quota controls 
  • Question types (e.g., closed, open-ended, probes, scales, etc.) 
  • Socio-demographic and business classifications 
  • Field Quality Control responsibilities 
  • All Validation Check processes (e.g., Recontacts, Interview Monitoring, Data Quality Analysis, etc.) 
  • All Validation Reporting requirements (e.g., Project Level QC Report, In-Process Checklist) 
  • Conducting Validation Checks in an objective manner 
  • Handling of data discrepancies and alleged falsification of interviews 
  • Training and learning in code practices, mystery shopping guidelines, data collection observation and recording, company's code of conduct, policies and SOPs

Quality Control Validations

  • Ensure understanding of the Validation requirements of each assigned project (validation method, timings and support forms) 
  • Ensure Validation Checks are conducted independently and without any form of bias 
  • Confirm that field data was collected according to NielsenIQ standards and project specifications 
  • Ensure understanding of all confidentiality and security requirements, including the requirements if Recontacts are to be recorded 
  • Ensure respondent Recontacts are performed in a professional & courteous manner: 
  • Read the recontact scripts as written and ensure respondents are left with a positive view of NielsenIQ 
  • Ensure respondent information and responses are true and accurately recorded 
  • For Door-to-Door Recontacts: Ensure ID Badge is current and displayed at all times 
  • Provide Validation results and feedback to End to End Coordinator and/or Field Supervisor; respond to queries in a timely manner 
  • Complete the required quality Reporting

General

  • Foster honest, two-way communication with Field Supervisor 
  • Communicate the following to Field Supervisor in timely and objective manner: 
  • Concerns regarding training and/or project requirements  
  • Validation-related queries/issues of concern 
  • Work-related incidents, including security incidents 
  • Dress appropriately for Interview Monitoring (i.e., Accompaniment on Door-to-Door interviews or Observation of interviews at Central Locations) 
  • Accurately estimate time, expenses, KMs/mileage, etc. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or related fields 
  • Fresh graduate or with at least 1 year experience in operational areas in market research 
  • Solid understanding of field interviewing, preferably in market research, and familiarity with commonly used terminology and jargon 
  • Strong communication skills; ability to present the findings from Quality Control checks in a detailed and accurate manner 
  • Detail-oriented, both in understanding instructions and executing process and deliverables 
  • Organized with strong time management skills; able to meet deadlines and follow-up on action items 
  • Thorough understanding of the related NielsenIQ SOPs and fieldwork standards 
  • Competent in the language applicable to the cities of interest 
  • Computer literacy and accurate keyboard skills
