Job Description

Reporting to the Director, Financial Reporting, the Manager, Financial Reporting is a key member of the NielsenIQ (“NIQ”) Corporate Reporting and Accounting team (“CR&A”), a highly visible team supporting the CFO and CAO in the internal and external financial reporting of the Company’s results. In addition, the Financial Reporting team is responsible for supporting new accounting pronouncement implementation and is instrumental in determining the accounting impact and treatment of acquisitions, divestitures and other non-routine transactions. The role is an integral part of ensuring the integrity, accuracy and transparency of our financial reporting function. 

Responsibilities 

  • Assists in managing the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and disclosures that are submitted to the lenders, including reviews of footnote tie-outs 
  • Supports the compilation and review of monthly financial statements that are distributed to management 
  • Participates in determining the accounting impact from acquisitions, divestitures and other non-routine transactions and directs steps necessary to correct or reflect adjustments to ensure accurate reporting 
  • Assists in coordinating and overseeing the annual external audit, including drafting memos to support key accounting positions 
  • Is a point of contact for the business in determining accounting treatment of key business transactions, including being a subject matter expert on revenue recognition 
  • Monitors the development and applicability of emerging accounting and reporting rules being deliberated by the SEC, US GAAP, PCAOB, IFRS or other regulations 
  • Critically analyzes reporting processes, procedures and internal controls to ensure efficiency and where appropriate, proposes improvements to key workstreams 
  • Participates in key policy initiatives within the company as an accounting resource

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree 
  • CPA 
  • 6 years of experience in external reporting and technical accounting research 
  • Big 5 Public accounting experience required 
  • Knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements 
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, evaluating and training staff 
  • Experience with XBRL tagging preferred
