Job Description Overview 

As a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and deployment of highly automated infrastructure solutions for all internal processes and technology. You will be expected to function as the highest level of technical support and escalation for automation-related issues, incidents, and initiatives when required and primarily be focused on projects that involve designing new methods to further streamline the environment. You will take the role of Subject Matter Expert in automated technical projects and be responsible for end-to-end solution implementation together with other subject matter experts on the team. 

The Infrastructure Sr. Engineer should have sufficient knowledge experience working with SAN and NAS storage systems, networking fundamentals, current security concepts, as well as Windows and Linux Operating systems to effectively cooperate with Infrastructure Network and Security teams to deliver solutions on a wide scale covering all the infrastructure environment aspects.  Should be well rounded in all data center technologies 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Work with team members to analyze existing process flows to build and maintain end-to-end automated processes within the infrastructure and surrounding systems 

  • Interview process owners, gather requirements, socialize and collaborate workflow designs, engage in discussions with users, stakeholders and leadership  

  • Hands on automation of internal and technical processes and be responsible to meet project deadlines 

  • Ongoing enhancement and improvement of existing automated processes 

  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of new and existing automated workflow processes, scripted procedures, configurations, settings and recovery plans 

  • Research and evaluate current and emerging technologies and stay informed of new technologies and solutions that increase productivity, innovation, and business capabilities 

  • Evaluate all technology systems to determine new areas of opportunity for automated solutions. These systems include but are not limited to; Cisco UCS, Windows Server, CentOS, VMware Citrix, ServiceNow, Ansible, Puppet, LogicMonitor, etc. 

  • Lead full-cycle development of strategic initiatives and provide overall technical guidance to all teams  

  • Assist other team members with the system and infrastructure-related issues when necessary 

  • Work closely with the scrum, development, and infrastructure- operations teams to support the automation of the infrastructure 

Role Requirements  

  • 8+ years equivalent hands-on experience in infrastructure engineering and administration with specialized skills in systems engineering, developing scalable infrastructure platforms. Cloud infrastructure engineering 

  • Advanced knowledge navigating and troubleshooting current operating systems and platforms to include Cisco UCS, VMware, Citrix, Windows, and CentOS 

  • Have 3+ year(s) of working with enterprise infrastructure automation platforms such as Powershell, Python, BASH, etc. Certificate for any of the platform is a plus. 

  • Alternatively have 3+ year(s) experience with OpenSource automation IaaC platforms such as Ansible, Puppet, etc. 

  • Have a deep and strong knowledge of scripting and programming in any scripting language (Powershell, Python, Perl, Shell + AWK, TCL, etc.) and communication protocols (REST, SNMP, SOAP, etc.)  

  • 3+ year(s) experience of using generic automation and orchestration platforms for Infrastructure Automation tasks (Ansible AWX / Ansible Tower + YAML Scripting). 

  • Have good verbal communication skills (English) in both technical and non-technical communications.  

  • Have good experience creating design documents diagrams (Visio) and presentations (PowerPoint)  

Preferred:  

  • Understand of DevOps process and Agile development cycle with Continuous Integration / Delivery (CI/CD). Experience with CI/CD platforms is a plus. 

  • Have a good understanding of infrastructure topologies, including legacy networking (switching, static, dynamic and rule-based routing, etc.) and modern cloud infrastructure (Subnets, Gateways, Load-Balancers, Peering, etc.) 

  • Understand cloud technologies and infrastructure virtualization (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, NFV, SDN) 

  • Be flexible to hold and attend workshops; or perform remote site installation and configuration. 

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and work with support teams and business units
