Job Description

NielsenIQ is looking to mature our Crisis Management function. To support that effort, we are looking for an experienced crisis management leader with corporate security and cybersecurity experience who will be responsible for the NIQ crisis management program across all geographies and business units. This key role requires extensive experience in enterprise level crisis management, leadership and influence.  Experience with business continuity, disaster recovery and tabletop exercises are helpful.  Recent experience leading a large organization through crisis events is highly desired. Ability to engage, influence and communicate with senior leaders across the organization is a key to success.  The candidate will be a self-motivated, detail-oriented performer who has a strong desire to influence and the ability to create and execute an enterprise crisis management program. This role has a high impact across the enterprise, and the selected candidate will engage with senior security, technology and business leaders. 

What you’ll do 

  • Work with adjacent functions including legal, communications, technology and business partners to lead the vision, roadmap and execution plans for crisis management at NielsenIQ 

  • Responsible to attract, develop, lead and retain a talented team of professionals to achieve the goals of crisis management 

  • Create processes and leverage technology and service providers to support the goals of crisis management 

  • Ensure crisis management scenarios related to multiple business units and geographies supported by on-premise, cloud and remote capabilities are understood and anticipated 

  • Partner with stakeholders across the enterprise to create the plans, playbooks, processes and technology required to ensure crisis response is well-prepared and ready to respond 

  • Engage with 3rd party service providers as needed to bolster enterprise capabilities 

  • Engage with 3rd party customers and partners to ensure crisis management considers the requirements, impacts and processes relevant to both internal and external stakeholders 

  • Support inquiries and provide responses and overviews of NIQ’s crisis management capabilities as needed from interested 3rd parties including sales opportunities, customers and regulators 

  • Lead crisis management processes when needed, including triage, crisis response, business continuity events and other internal and/or external events that represent crisis level risk 

  • Lead the NIQ executive crisis management committee, maintain the committee charter, meetings, materials, minutes, action items 

We’re looking for people who have 

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 7-10 years of increasing leadership in crisis management or related functions desired in complex work environments including multi-business unit, multi-geography - experience in government, military or in other capacities with similar focus can be substituted 

  • Sufficient technical and business acumen to engage credibly with technical and business leaders 

  • Demonstrated engagement in professional development including membership in related industry associations, relevant industry certifications and training 

  • Self-starter, life-long learner with endless curiosity, demonstrating extreme ownership and a desire to create change and influence 

  • Demonstrated ability to execute with discipline 

  • Relentless attention to detail, fearless to challenge the status quo (diplomatically), rigorous planner 

  • Experience with multiple crisis and business continuity scenarios including ransomware, weather events, natural disasters and other contributors to business disruption
