As a Lead Product Owner, you’ll be at the heart of creating scalable platform tools for Nielsen Brandbank. It will be your role to lead cross-functional Product Owners to ensure that consistent approaches are being adopted in all domain teams. You will also work with senior stakeholders across the organisation to understand the overall business priorities and how they apply to the applications and components in your assigned domain. 
 
Responsibilities 

  • To provide coaching and mentoring to cross-functional Product Owners implementing and promoting consistent ways of working across domain teams, where relevant, focussing on outcomes. 

  • To monitor cross-functional teams outputs in line with agreed KPI’s and provide coaching and mentoring to ensure optimal delivery. 

  • Plan, prioritise and refine the domain backlog in line with overall business priorities, ensuring that the team(s) always have an adequate amount of play-ready tasks to work on 

  • Define product vision, road-map and growth opportunities within your assigned domain(s) 

  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritise stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with overall business priorities 

  • Lead the domain team(s) in backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories 

  • Work closely with other Product Owners, Product Management and the PMO to align on strategy, ensuring seamless products and co-ordinated deliveries 

  • Lead the team(s) in planning product releases and set the expectation for delivery of new functionalities or other tasks 

  • Take an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals 

  • Provide regular and clear reporting to senior leaders and across the organisation 


About you 
You’ve already worked as a Product Owner role where fact finding, requirements gathering & driving change were a part of your daily routine. You are a creative thinker with a vision, experienced in leading, managing and developing others. Agile methodology is not a secret to you. You’re interested in consumer content and on-line retail industry. You have sharp analytical and problem solving skills, being able to grasp the “what” of the vision and translate it into “how”. A fast-paced, collaborative, and flexible environment lures you as well as managing multiple dependencies and stakeholders.  
 

Qualifications 

  • A strong working technical knowledge and an understanding of data (preferably consumer content) and its application across business 

  • Previous working experience as a Product Owner 

  • Experience of leading, managing and developing staff with proven ability to motivate and engage others so that the team continuously strive to deliver high-quality solutions 

  • In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles  

  • A demonstrable understanding of solution design and architecture and systems integration 

  • Proven ability to quickly grasp a clear understanding of a customer’s needs and translate them to a set of requirements and well-planned solution deliverables 

  • Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills 

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills 

  • Past project management experience in an agile environment – nice to have 

  • An understanding of consumer content and/or on-line retail industry and related technologies – nice to have
