Job Description

Responsible for managing the Health and Safety Operations for a portfolio of properties in the UK and Ireland (Oxford, Norwich, Woking, Stevenage, Dublin).

Job Responsibilities

· Accountable for compliance with all regulatory bodies across UK and Ireland

· To act as a link/conduit between current health and safety stakeholders and the business. Stakeholders include UK & Ireland Business Leaders, NIQ associates, NIQ statutory directors, JLL, H&S Vendors, Consultants and training providers, and any other health and safety-related stakeholders, to ensure that all aspects of health and safety for NIQ are compliant with legal requirements.

· To act as a point of contact for H&S queries, requests, and questions, from associates, relevant stakeholders, and external contacts. To “sign-post” and direct inquiries promptly to the correct responsible stakeholder.

· Leads all 3rd party supplier negotiations in relation to any facilities contract & SLA’s.

· Partner with local MD & management teams to ensure H&S requirements are met

· Responsible for all Risk Management programs to the business

· Leads best practice programs to ensure fast response to any outage or event

· Apply comprehensive periodical inspection and audit processes.

· Coordinate and manage insurance and service contract requirements and associated vendors.

· Ensure adherence to company and client policies and procedures

· Lead a constant effort to improve resources usage (energy, labour, vendors efforts).

· To be a key point of contact for health and safety communications going out to the business.

· Fully responsible for the implementation and adherence to all legislative requirements.

· Responsible for H&S requirements and company policies and procedures.

· Responsible for ensuring that internal expectations are delivered and exceeded.

· Provide technical assistance during scoping of projects/project management meetings

· Establish and maintain strong relationships with business leaders, internal stakeholders/partners/vendors to ensure that high expectations are being met and global/local standards adhered to.

· Drive innovation and service improvements, identifying and creating ways to improve efficiency.

· Assist with review and communication of health and safety policies, as determined by the statutory directors.

· Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated and recommended improvements implemented.

· Coordinate with H&S providers to ensure that safety inspections, fire drills and risk assessments are carried out and correctly reported. To assist with making associates aware of their responsibilities.

· Ensure full compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation to include document provision and review, emergency response planning and crisis management/business continuity.

· Engage and manage local amenities programs and work with local project teams to ensure delivery of new builds, concepts, etc.

Qualifications

 

· Strong people management skills and experience of working across different cultures

· Strong time-management and organisational skills

· Proven experience with Microsoft office & other related packages

· Advanced negotiation skills & ability to influence at all levels

· Strong knowledge of local government legislation relating to building compliance

· NEBOSH Diploma in Health & Safety management or similar

· Capability to perform systemic root cause analysis and problem resolution

· Strong customer care ethos with significant attention to detail

· An understanding of commercial contracts and experience of managing agreed Service Levels within budget.

· Outstanding verbal and written skills, decision making and problem-solving skills

· Strong financial and project management experience, planning, managing, and controlling costs.
