OTC LEAD, (Director) GLOBAL FINANCIAL CONTROLLING COE – PUNE  

ABOUT THIS JOB  

At Nielsen, The Order to Cash (OTC) Lead collaborates closely with the Regional Revenue Services COE Leader, the Local Finance and Commercial Teams, and Nielsen clients to ensure the timely and accurate processing of Sales contracts, Billing, Revenue Recognition and Month end closing. The role also entails providing an effective service on behalf of Nielsen businesses according to legal and statutory requirements, and standard global processes.  

RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Monitor and manage the OTC function through the preparation and publication of monthly KPIs, ensuring regular review and initiating process changes to standardize, improve performance and efficiency related to Contracts processing, Revenue Accounting, and Revenue Controllership.  

  • Adopt a regional & global agenda and link in with our stakeholders to drive process improvement, systems development, standardization and controls enhancement  

  • Exercise controllership & oversee the OTC process in accordance with US-GAAP criteria  

  • Own the controls design, implementation and monitoring on OTC related processes Support & monitor the adherence to the IC rules & processes  

  • Lead talent development of the Revenue Associates through recruitment, training, coaching, project assignment, empowerment  

  • Partner with Revenue Controllers and other finance teams to provide clarity and support on Pipeline, Orders and contracts, Revenue Recognition, Billing, Credit Management and Ownership of relevant Balance sheet accounts  

  • Support the Regional & Global clients fund management in conjunction with the FP&A & FBP team  

  • Co-Manage the BCC rhythm for Unbilled and AR for all key clients and markets  

  • Own the month end close process and accrual approval in conjunction with the Revenue Controllers   

  • Manage the electronic invoicing delivery process for the region & the quality delivery of third-party providers  

  • Manage the credit management process and the third-party platform & service  

  • Manage the Material Master updates for the region, in sync with global standards, and provide support for any initiatives impacting MM  

  • Supporting the review & monitoring of the SSC (internal or external) service quality levels through performance metrics, with specific regard to:  

○ Customer invoicing  

○ Credit management  

○ Accounts Receivable management  

○ Account Reconciliation of Revenue related B/S accounts  

○ Issue resolution and dispute management  

○ IC processes  

  • Support Revenue Controllers and the Operational Controllers during audits (CAS, statutory, VAT, etc) based on pre-defined way of work according to global standards  

  • Work with Revenue Controllers, Associate Revenue Controllers, Regional Revenue Services COE Leader  

  • International Client Directors, Client Service and Commercial teams  

  • Regional Financial Services / Operational Controllership COE core team / leader  

  • Local Finance Business Partners and FP&A team  

  • Internal Audit  

  • Corporate Platforms & IT  

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOU  

A successful OTC Lead will achieve a balanced coordination and seamless execution of all OTC and month end-related activities in the region. S/he will have delivered on all process governance and controllership metrics. S/he will have promoted leadership and talent development within the regional COE team and have willingly demonstrated values and behaviors as a senior finance leader.  

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Chartered Accountant or CMA 

  • Fluency in English

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in Accounting and Finance, preferably Revenue Controllership  

  • Knowledge and experience with relevant statutory requirements preferred  

  • Knowledge and experience with US-GAAP and/or IFRS especially around Revenue Recognition 

  • Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP)

  • Exposure to various tools and transformation related to OTC processes driving efficiency and controllership 

  • Experience with project management and migration of processes 

  • Strong communication skills, team player and leadership traits  

  • Must have led team size of more than 200 FTE 

  • Preference for people who have led Global team across different countries
