Job Description
Inside the Nexthink Engineering department, the team you will be joining participates in building what we call the Collectors: the endpoint agents that run on the systems of millions of employees worldwide. The Collector collects meaningful data at the OS level, aggregates it on the device, and reports it to our cloud analytics platform. They also help remediate detected issues and improve users' device experience. Collectors are a complex and critical part of Nexthink products, running on Windows and macOS.
Here, you'll take on broad, non-conventional problems with the autonomy to shape and own them — and your ideas can reach millions of devices worldwide. We hold a high bar for quality, performance, and security, and we give engineers the room to ship and grow.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve Nexthink’s Collector endpoint agents running on millions of Windows and macOS devices worldwide.
- Develop reliable, high-performance modern C++ software close to the operating system, where efficiency, stability, and quality directly matter.
- Own impactful features end-to-end — from product requirements to production rollout, observability, and measurable impact.
- Tackle complex cross-platform challenges in real-world environments, investigating deep OS-level issues across diverse customer fleets.
- Continuously raise the bar for the performance, reliability, security, and maintainability of our Collectors, helping shape technology that operates at global endpoint scale.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in software development.
Fluency in C++ 20/23.
Strong, demonstrable understanding of operating system internals.
Experience in OS-level software development and research on Windows and/or macOS.
Proven experience leading a feature end-to-end, from product requirements to delivered solution.
Understanding of the concepts of pure, lean, and well-testable code.
Ability to navigate and debug complex code.
Ability to build tools that support the development process.
Proficiency or hands-on experience with AI agentic coding tools.
A product-oriented mindset and comfort working in a dynamic environment.
Clear, concise communication in English.
Nice to have
Experience in kernel-mode software development.
Experience in cross-platform development: Windows and macOS.
