Summary:

The Software Engineer’s objective is to meet corporate goals for creating programs for manufacturing automation technologies within the company.  Uphold the values, act and respond in the best interest of the company and its customers.  Function well as a leader in developing requirements and code for automation solutions.  The Software Engineer operates under general supervision of the Lead Engineer, and performs duties with broad latitude for judgment.  Incumbents independently perform business requirements analysis; software development, document, and manage the entire life cycle of the software.  Tasks assigned require an in-depth and broader understanding of problem identification, analysis and resolution.  Final products may be reviewed upon completion with regard to business and technical soundness and appropriateness.


Responsibilities:

-Develop requirements for automation technology.
-Develop software in either C/C++, or C# depending on the project.
-Maintenance of existing and new software developed.
-Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server manage implementations.
-Develop software for PLC’s.
-Some minor networking is required.
-Consult with functional areas to define business needs and objectives.
-Develop objective metrics to measure performance.
-25-35% travel is required.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

-College degree or equivalent experience with specific course work in software and database development.
-Ability to develop in C/C++, and C#.
-Ability to create and maintain SQL Server databases.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills.
-Basic knowledge of TCP/IP and networking.
-Be able to create and maintain accurate documentation with great attention to detail.
-Excellent organizational and time management skills in order to meet time lines.
-Be able to have a flexible schedule.
-Be willing to travel occasionally.
-PLC experience Preferred.
