As our Lead Data Scientist, you will lead a team whilst operating as the hands on machine learning SME. You will play a leading role in delivering improvements to data enrichment services used by our B2C and B2B customers. Spend categorisation, merchant classification and several other financial models such as income and expenses are required to be built or improved so that these are scalable and accurate. The role involves working across a number of stakeholders and managing data scientists to employ cutting edge technologies to ensure these systems deliver our goals.

Job Description

  • Machine Learning/ Problem Solving

    • Exploratory Data Analysis
    • Build and manage the rollout of natural language processing pipelines and models to support our categorisation as a service product, including parser combinators and classification models/ neural networks
    • Work with data engineering to deploy models efficiently
  • Data Visualisation

    • Build and manage the maintenance of performance dashboards

  • Solution Design

    • Help evolve the Data Science architecture to achieve scale
    • Design individual modules and components within the architecture
    • Build continuous improvement processes with feedback loops
    • Manage data labeling
    • Operational excellence, monitoring, and performance
  • Management

    • Lead a team of junior data scientists and advise on future recruitment within team
    • Oversee the data science specialism and its communication throughout the company
  • Stakeholder Engagement

    • Work across product, engineering, Sales and Operations to understand requirements and build out models
    • Liaise with B2B customers as required
