Job Description

NexGen is currently seeking a Senior Oracle PL/SQL
Developer
who will have responsibility for creation, maintenance and
enhancement of PL/SQL stored procedures. Development duties encompass creating operational
ready PL/SQL code for an existing database including coordination, planning,
and control to ensure a stable information systems environment.  Additional Oracle database administrator
duties may also be required.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the
following. Other duties may be assigned:



  • Design, develop, and maintain a wide variety of
    software systems.

  • Effectively and accurately communicate with
    management regarding project status, issue identification and remediation.

  • Deliver reliable and high quality code to meet
    requirements within tight deadlines.

  • Translate business specifications into a cohesive
    software design and implementation.

  • Collaborate with Database Administrators:

    • Ensure smooth and consistent operation of multiple
      Oracle database instances.

    • Assist with monitor and review database instances
      to identify potential maintenance and tuning issues.

    • Data analysis and cleansing including verification
      and validation of data quality.

  • Respond to customer requests in a timely manner.

  • The candidate should possess strong oral and
    written communication, general problem solving skills and should be able to be
    an effective team player as well as operate effectively with minimal
    supervision.

  • Investigate potential data related issues, by
    examining the data, relationships, triggers and stored procedures within the
    database.























Qualifications



Qualifications:

  • Strong background in Oracle PL/SQL programming
    language.

  • Capacity to remain focused with task at hand as
    well as multi-tasking.

  • Works well independently when needed as well as
    within small project teams assuming a leadership role.

  • Strong sense of ownership for assigned tasks and
    willingness to go the extra mile when needed.

  • Understanding of Object Oriented concepts, design
    patterns, and modern application frameworks

  • Familiarity with all aspects of Software
    Development Life Cycle.

  • The successful candidate will be able to pass
    background screening prior to employment.

  • US Citizenship or work-authorization

Education/Experience:



  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information
    Systems, or a related scientific or technical degree; or equivalent experience.

Technical Skills/Experience:

  • 7+ years experience writing and deciphering complex
    PL/SQL code.

  • 7+ years experience interacting with Oracle 10g,
    11g, 12c databases.

  • 3+ years in either a primary or secondary role as
    an Oracle Database Administrator.

  • Thorough understanding of general database
    technologies and relational database concepts.









UNIX (Solaris, Linux)
OS knowledge.

Additional Information

Additional Desired Skills/Requirements:

  • Experience writing Perl and UNIX shell scripts.

  • Knowledge of J2EE framework.

  • Experience using Informatica.

  • Experience interacting with Informix 9.4 databases.

  • The candidate should also possess strong oral and
    written communication, problem solving skills and should be a team player.
